New Star Wars Clip Confirms The Bad Batch Is In Their Din Djarin Era

A new clip from Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3, episode 12 “Juggernaut” has been released, and it proves that Clone Force 99 is officially in their Din Djarin era. The parallels between The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian have always been strong, but things intensified after “Point Of No Return,” which saw both the destruction of the Bad Batch’s ship and the capture of Omega by the Empire – two story beats that directly echo The Mandalorian season 2, episode 6 “Chapter 14: The Tragedy.” Now, this clip proves The Bad Batch is going even further.

The clip, released by Star Wars, shows Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair driving a juggernaut vehicle as they steer themselves away from Imperial attack shuttles in pursuit of them. Hunter is seen requesting a pickup from Phee Genoa while Wrecker mans the guns, and Crosshair returns from what very well may have been his own attempt at shooting down the shuttles. The scene promises plenty of action in the upcoming episode, but it also provides many parallels to one of The Mandalorian‘s best episodes.

The Mandalorian season 2, episode 7 “Chapter 15: The Believer” is also defined by its use of juggernauts. Din Djarin fights on top of a juggernaut in order to stave off pirates who seek to blow up the rhydonium supply that Din and his reluctant ally, Migs Mayfeld, are carrying. This aspect of the episode is already very similar to The Bad Batch clip that Star Wars has released, from the juggernaut itself to the troopers who come on board. While this is just a brief glimpse, the context alone proves the two will continue to be very similar.

Both these episodes take place directly after the heroes have lost the child in their care to the Empire, and after their ships have been destroyed. Din Djarin’s mission is to find the coordinates to where Grogu is being held on Moff Gideon’s light cruiser, and if The Bad Batch continues to follow its story beats, then it’s very likely they’re on a similar quest. After all, Phee Genoa is already taking Boba Fett’s place as Clone Force 99’s pick-up, which Boba and his Firespray gunship offered Din in “The Believer” – including the release of a seismic charge.

Whether “Juggernaut” will continue to heavily echo “The Believer” or not is still left to be seen, as the episode has not yet been released. This rhyming between storylines, however, promises an adventure for Clone Force 99 that’s just as thrilling as “The Believer” was four years ago. The stakes are just as high, especially with Crosshair’s secondary tracker tragically having failed them at the end of “Point Of No Return.” Clone Force 99 will no doubt be in their vengeful Din Djarin era, then, as The Bad Batch season 3 continues later this week.
