New Posters: The Road, 2012, Where The Wild Things Are & More!

Happy Friday everyone! Today we have gathered the latest biggest and best posters for this week’s poster round-up.

Screen Rant’s wall this week now includes new one-sheets for Where the Wild Things Are, Fantastic Mr.Fox, 2012, The Road, Gamer, Bad Lieutenant and a pair of comedies: The Invention of Lying and Couples Retreat.

For the horror fans out there, we also have some fan-made posters for the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, and as a little bonus, the first official photo for Saw VI.

To start this week’s set, here’s the brand new poster for the heart-filled fantasy, Where the Wild things Are.

Where the Wild Things Are is brought to us by Spike Jonze who’s done an incredible job of bring the short childrens book to life. It opens October 16th and I’ll be there.

Next up is First Showing’s exclusive poster for Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox.

The film’s all-star voice cast includes Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Brian Cox, Jason Schwartzmen, Michael Gambon and Anjelica Huston. Even Wes Anderson himself, plays one of the characters.

Fantastic Mr. Fox opens November 25, 2009.

Latino Review has a pair of new posters for The Road, the upcoming drama/thriller based on the famous Cormac McCarthy novel of the same name.

Leading the film’s cast is Viggo Mortensen with Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Robert Duvall, Molly Parker and Garret Dillahunt.

The Road is directed by John Hillcoat and will finally hit theaters October 16, 2009.

The Los Angeles Times blog has a new exclusive poster for 2012.

This latest Roland Emmerich disaster movie had the best looking posters of last week’s batch and this one’s pretty cool too.

Next up is the Korean poster for Gamer, starring Gerard Butler.

I really dig this poster but his facial expression could use a tad bit of adjustment – see for yourself:

Now for a comedy! Couples Retreat features a very likable cast including Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Kristen Bell, Malin Akerman, Jean Reno and Kristin Davis.

It is directed by Peter Billingsley and opens October 9, 2009.

Our buddy Michael at MoviesOnline.ca has gathered a collection of great fan-made posters for the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street that are definitely worthy of being displayed here.

We’ve just put three of them here but there’s more – Head over to Movies Online for the others.

The remake stars the super-talented Jackie Earle Haley as the new Freddy Krueger and some of his victims include Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy and Thomas Dekker.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is scheduled for an April 30, 2010 release.

Cinematical has the brand new poster for the latest Ricky Gervais comedy, The Invention of Lying. The film’s cast also includes Jennifer Garner as the pretty leading lady, Jonah Hill, Rob Lowe and Tina Fey.

Coming Soon has an exclusive look at the poster for Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans which stars Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes. The last time they partnered up was for Ghost Rider so take what you will from that.

The Werner Herzog film plays at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 15th.

Last but not least we have another image that’s not even poster – It’s the first official image for Saw VI and it comes to us from ShockTillYouDrop.

The sixth Saw installment, as always brings back Tobin Bell as Jigsaw and opens in time for Halloween, on October 23rd.

Summer may be over but as you can tell, there’s still a ton of movies on their way before 2009 comes to a close – and these movies don’t even scratch the surface of what we’ll see over the holidays (Avatar, anyone?).
