A cryptic leak from a reliable source has shed some light on a few of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s new Pokémon, including a mouse-like evolutionary line and a “dark dog.” The ninth generation of Pokémon is right around the corner, and Game Freak has been slowly but steadily revealing some of the new collectible creatures that players will encounter in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The latest of these reveals is Greavard, ghostly canine that could very well be one of Scarlet and Violet’s deadliest Pokémon.
Earlier today, Twitter user and Pokémon leak tracker PearlEnthusiast shared a screenshot of a now-deleted series of posts from fellow leaker Riddler_Khu about some of the new creatures ostensibly coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Riddler_Khu gave cryptic answers to some fan questions about the game, hinting that an unnamed mouse-like Pokémon could have two different forms – and that one of them is incredibly rare. Another answer suggests that a “dark dog” Pokémon could change color from orange to grey during its own evolution. Finally, Riddler_Khu shared an image of a segmented cherry snack, with text above it describing a “new segmented worm pokemon” that is apparently pink.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Could Have A “Segmented Worm” & “Dark Dog”
Riddler_Khu’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violetleaks may be puzzling, but they have proven themselves to be reliable in the past. Back in January, they hinted that a ninth Pokémon generation could start later this year – a belief that was confirmed when Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was announced for the Nintendo Switch in February. They also shared some ideas about the evolutionary lines for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s evolutionary lines, which are still being kept under wraps. Furthermore, a commenter on PearlEnthusiast’s post notes that the post about a “segmented worm” Pokémon is similar to a drawing made by yet another Pokémon Scarlet and Violet leaker not too long ago.
The finer details of Riddler_Khu’s latest Pokémon Scarlet and Violet leaks are still up in the air, but they could make for some interesting fan theories in the weeks leading up to the start of the ninth Pokémon generation. The “dark dog” mentioned in the leaks could be the third in a trio of new canine Pokémon that already consists of the previously-mentioned Greavard and the bread-themed Fidough. Additionally, the mouse Pokémon has already been seen before in the latest leak-confirming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer from October, though its evolutionary status hasn’t yet been confirmed.
There are only a few weeks left to go before Pokémon Scarlet and Violet launch on the Nintendo Switch on November 18, meaning that Nintendo and Game Freak could very well reveal any of the new Pokémon hinted at in Riddler_Khu’s mysterious Scarlet and Violet leaks between now and then.
