New Grounded Update Adds Spiderwebs, Changes Ants, & Fixes Bugs Today

The newest update for Obsidian Entertainment’s Grounded launches today and it adds many new features to the game like spiderwebs as well as reworks the way that ants work in the game. Grounded released earlier this year with a solid amount of content for players to explore, but many users managed to work their way through everything available pretty quickly. This new update should hopefully keep those players busy again with all of the new features that are being added.

When Grounded first launched players were able to build their own bases, craft new tools, and play with the game’s small amount of story content, like fixing the Mysterious Machine. As time went on though the story content dried up, and players were left to explore the world of Grounded. Last month, an earlier update released for the game that added new content and items that changed things up radically. Just a few days later, Obsidian released a roadmap that detailed all major changes that would come to the game before it fully releases.

Today’s update information was teased on Obsidian’s website. One of the first new things that is coming is a new spider web mechanic, which can tangle players and bugs up if they aren’t careful. Ants are getting several new reworks as well, like the fact that ant soldiers will be stronger and have access to more attacks. Ants will also desire to have any eggs back that players steal, and those eggs can hatch even after being moved by players.

There are many other things coming with this update, as well. The Hedge area is receiving several changes, such as new missions to play through, and players will also be able to craft many new structures, including – but not limited to – zip-lines, spinning wheels, and signs. There will also be new Halloween content added to the game over the next several weeks, in addition to a laundry list of much-needed early access bug fixes to make the game run more smoothly overall.

While Grounded has not fully released yet, there is still quite a bit for players to explore and check out. The regular updates that take place almost every month have only added to the amount of stuff to do in the world of Grounded, so there is no telling what the game will look like when it finally comes out of Early Access. The new content of this update should definitely help hold players over until then.

Grounded is available now on Xbox One and PC.
