New Girl: 10 Best Things That Happened To Cece

New Girl: 10 Best Things That Happened To Cece

Cece’s significance on New Girl grew immensely as the series progressed. At first, she seemed just like a friend to Jess, who didn’t really like the rest of the loft gang at all. This was especially the case when it came to Schmidt. However, as the series went on, her character became a huge part of the group. Her story became more prominent, too, and often pretty sad… but thankfully, as the show continued, a lot of wonderful moments also occurred for her.

Cece was truly a wonderful friend to those around her, even if conflict certainly arose at times. This was what allowed the audience to gravitate to her character, which in turn, made them want her to have only great things happen to her. However, one could argue that the hard moments her character faced were all worth it in the end, as she ended up having one of the happiest storylines out of all the characters on the show.

When Jess Became Her Lifelong Best Friend

Jess and Cece met at the library as kids. It was a very nice scene, as Jess helped Cece read her textbook. This ended up being the beginning of their wonderful friendship, which of course was unbreakable from there.

This was huge, as Jess and Cece stayed friends as adults and went through so much together. Jess helped Cece through all of her struggles and understandably was her maid of honor at her wedding. Thus, one cannot undervalue the importance of this friendship.

She Became Close To Coach

Coach and Cece on date

Cece and Coach had a pretty awful fling, sure, but they managed to become good friends after that. This was awesome to see, as the two of them made a lot of fun memories during Coach’s short time on the series.

Their friendship seemed to cement itself when Cece asked Coach to help her investigate Schmidt’s apartment when Abby moved in. They started to not only hang out a lot, but also opened up to one another when they experienced problems.

She Didn’t Marry Shivrang

Cece and Shivrang

In an attempt to please her mother, Cece decided to get engaged to Shivrang. This definitely seemed like a very bad idea from the start, as the two lacked any real compatibility. It also did not help that Cece had lingering feelings for Schmidt at the time.

Once her wedding day arrived, both Cece and Shivrang decided that they could not wed, as they were in love with other people. This was a great decision, as it stopped Cece from making a monumental mistake.

She Left Modeling

Cece was unfulfilled as a model. Her career path left her wondering if she was wasting her professional life. As a result of these ongoing feelings, Cece opted to leave this field and decided to try to go back to school.

She struggled a bit after modeling at first.  Nick gave her a job at the bar, but like with modeling, it was not something that truly interested her. Although it took some time, leaving modeling was the best decision for her, as she did eventually find her calling.

She Became Close With Winston

Winson and Cece

It was amazing when Cece and Winston became closer later on in the series. The chemistry between them was absolutely stupendous, as they began to have an array of wacky adventures with one another.

The connection became so strong that Cece asked Winston to be one of her bridesmaids. He gleefully accepted and even helped her pick out her, well, originally atrocious wedding dress. Overall, it was just a wonderful development having these two get close.

She Started To Heal Her Relationship With Her Mother

An ongoing theme from this series was Cece’s bad relationship with her mother. This hit an all-time low when her mother refused to accept Schmidt and Cece’s engagement. Thus, the two ended up cutting communication entirely.

Yet, due to Schmidt’s persistence, he was able to convince her to go to their wedding. This was truly a marvelous moment, as it was so nice seeing them fix their damaged relationship.

She Married Schmidt

Schmidt and Cece went through a lot of obstacles, but they did eventually get married. Even when they dated other people, it always seemed that they were going to work it out. Thankfully, it finally came into fruition when Schmidt left Fawn and told Cece that he loved her.

The wedding itself was a bit disastrous, as Schmidt was stuck on a plane and missed it. However, the gang ended up surprising him by preparing the wedding in the loft for when he came back. Overall, it was just a beautiful moment for Cece and Schmidt.

She Built A Long-Term Career

Cece ended up building a fantastic long-term career later on in the series. She became a manager for male models and did a wonderful job of building up a career from there. By the final season, she was actually the one working full-time, while Schmidt took time off to be a stay-at-home parent.

Cece displayed the fact that she was quite intelligent by becoming successful in this field, as she came up with the idea on her very own. It also made her previous years of modeling worthwhile, as they were what made her an expert in this position.

Schmidt’s Way Of Telling Her She Was Pregnant

Cece was the last person to find out she was pregnant, as everyone else kept picking up the phone call from her doctor. This was a huge moment in the series though, as at one time, it seemed unlikely that she was able to have kids.

Once Schmidt found out, he decorated their home with a large assortment of flowers and broke the fantastic news to her. This was an amazingly wholesome scene and arguably among the bests from the show’s entire run.

She Had Kids

Cece's family

By the end of the series, Cece not only had Ruth, but another son named Moses. It was awesome seeing the pair have a second child, as it seemed unlikely that they would even be able to have one – and Cece clearly wanted to be a mother.

Although fans would only see Moses for one scene, it was still awesome to find out that they were able to grow their family. It was ultimately the perfect sendoff for Cece’s story, as she obtained everything that she ever wanted.
