Chris Pratt is teaming up with Amazon again after the success of The Tomorrow War for a new science-fiction thriller called Mercy. The Tomorrow War in 2021 marked Pratt’s first collaboration with Amazon, with Chris McKay’s action-packed film starring Pratt as a soldier fighting a war against aliens in the future. The movie was a major hit on Prime Video, with Pratt then continuing his working relationship with the company for 2022’s The Terminal List.
Now, Deadline reports that Pratt will star in Mercy for Amazon MGM Studios, with the film to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov and scripted by Marco van Belle. The movie is described as being set in the near future when violent crime has increased. Pratt will play a detective in the film who is forced to prove his innocence after being accused of a capital crime. Mercy is also expected to get a theatrical release.
