New Apple Star Wars Day Ad Is Absolutely Packed With Easter Eggs – Can You Spot Them All?

Apple released a new Star Wars themed advertisement ahead of Star Wars day, and the video is absolutely brimming with fun Easter eggs and references. Lucasfilm and Disney typically have several releases and deals for Star Wars day, and this year is no different. Star Wars day 2024 is marked by several big releases, such as the animated show Tales of the Empire and a re-release of The Phantom Menace, and major companies like Apple are also joining in on the festivities.

A post from Star Wars revealed the new Apple ad, which features a group of fans clad in Mandalorian armor and several other references to the galaxy far, far away.

The Star Wars references began almost immediately in the advert, as the main fan called for his dog, Leia, a reference to Carrie Fisher’s iconic character. After heading out, getting his “boba” tea, a reference to the iconic bounty hunter, and arriving at a convention, he used his phone to find the rest of his Mandalorian clan. The Easter eggs also encompassed every era of Star Wars, and they helped make the ad a fun celebration of the beloved franchise.

There are quite a few references to Star Wars in the Apple advert, almost too many to list. Almost every scene of the video contains multiple small details, and finding every Easter egg included in the video is a monumental but delightful challenge. Many of the references also come from several different eras of Star Wars, like elements from the original trilogy such as thermal detonators, parts of the sequel trilogy like a BB-8 cameo, and the most obvious of all, the Mandalorians who have been a mainstay of every part of the franchise, most recently in The Mandalorian.

A notable part of the ad is that it included and was starred by 172 fans of Star Wars. Those fans clearly have a deep love for the franchise, and their passion for Star Wars bled through into every part of the ad, most notably in their dedication to their costumes. It’s also evident from the ad that its creators have a huge appreciation for the franchise. They carefully crafted it to include as many parts of the galaxy as they could possibly fit in, from changing the video’s song to include a reference to the 501st to changing signs to reference different Star Wars movies.

The advert is also a sign of how important the franchise is to so many people that one of the biggest companies in the world would dedicate an entire ad to it. Star Wars is a very recognizable brand, so there’s definitely a marketing aspect to that decision, but it’s also deeply loved, and Apple clearly wanted to associate itself with that level of passion. Apple’s Star Wars day advert is a fun way to pay homage to the franchise, and finding all of its references and Easter eggs is also fun in and of itself.
