Netflix’s Love: The 10 Best Characters On The Series

Netflix’s Love: The 10 Best Characters On The Series

Netflix’s Love is one of the most underrated shows on the streaming service. It paints a realistic, yet simultaneously beautiful picture of how modern romance truly is. While doing so, it does a great job of mixing comedy and drama within its storylines, so it is impossible for the audience not to feel captivated whilst watching. Yet, what is most important about it is it has an array of great characters in the series, whether they are protagonists or antagonists.

Furthermore, the show builds its story through them by not only focusing on their positive qualities but also their largest of flaws. In fact, some characters display the latter more as the series progresses, too. At the end of the day, though, they all are extremely entertaining to follow, whether they are funny or just stirring up conflict. The lone negative about this series is that it only has three seasons. There is so much more it could have explored, but alas, its fans should be thankful for the content it does provide.

Mickey

Netflix’s Love: The 10 Best Characters On The Series

Mickey shows immense growth as the series transpires, even if there are setbacks along the way. She tackles her addiction problems head-on, while also learning to be a better partner to Gus in the process.

Yet, she is not perfect by any stretch, as her worst action is when she cheats on Gus when he is working out of state. However, she manages to redeem herself after this when she becomes more vulnerable and empathetic to others. Also, it is amazing to see her professional career blossom, too.

Chris

Chris and Bertie on a date talking across the table

Chris is a character who is quite lovable, as he always pushes others to have a good time. It is also hard not to like his work ethic, as he is constantly in pursuit of achieving his stuntman dream job.

He is a very good friend to Gus, even if the two are pretty different, too. He also is far more compatible with Bertie than Randy is, which in turn, makes their relationship far more enjoyable. However, he still is not perfect, as he pursues Bertie when she is with Randy still.

Truman

Truman and Mickey together at work

Truman adds a great element of comedy to the series. As a coworker of Mickey’s at the radio station, he doesn’t seem too invested in his job, as he memorably ditches work. However, he also is known for his strange and zany personality.

When Gus and Mickey prepare to get married, he also provides a lot of humor to the situation He assumes that it is all a joke and continues to say it, as he believes he is now a part of it. Overall, he certainly is a nice part of the series.

Gus

Gus playing the bass

Gus is known for kind nature, as he actively aims to help others. However, an intriguing element to his character is that he can lose his temper, especially when it comes to his work life. A perfect example of this is when he is in the writing room for the first time and throws a laptop.

However, Gus is ultimately the best partner for Mickey, as he shows her unconditional support and love through her struggles. Yet, Mickey also is extremely important for his growth, as she calls out his flaws when he says that they won’t get married soon to his family. Also, on a less serious note, he also is quite the musician, too.

Syd

Syd from Netflix's Love

Syd is a character in the series that just is not there enough sadly. She honestly seems as though that she would have been a great long-term friend for Mickey to have, as the two both enjoy having fun and are a little sassy.

She also does not look down upon Mickey for not being married and having children, unlike her supposed friend, Shaun. Thus, when Mickey and Shaun had their falling out over the latter’s pretentiousness, it would have been nice to see Syd to see Mickey more.

Randy

Randy from Netflix's Love

Randy is a character who is struggling to form a professional career. When he starts dating Bertie, he lives at her apartment, as the series later reveals that he sleeps in his car when not there. He also borrows money from Bertie at times, too. All these factors strain their relationship.

However, excluding this element of his character, he provides a lot of overall comedy to the series. This is what can make him lovable at times, especially when it comes to his interactions with Gus’ group. Overall, he is a flawed character, but one that also is quite memorable.

Arya

Arya from Netflix's Love

The friendship between Arya and Gus is an underrated one to say the least. With Gus as her tutor, she often refuses to do her work, while also poking fun at him for his peculiar personality and mannerisms.

However, she turns out to be loyal to him, as she refuses to act until he is given his job back. She even stars in his side movie project, too, even though she is a famous actor. It also is nice when the series touches upon her desire to be a regular kid and go to school, as it displays her true teenager side.

Susan

Susan from Netflix's Love

Susan is that no-nonsense boss that many individuals would feel intimidated to work with. When seeing how she acts towards Gus during the vast majority of the series, it is understandable, to say the least. She becomes irritated with him, especially when he tries to push his way into the writing section of the show.

However, an admirable characteristic about her is that she does give Gus the chance to pursue his dream. Also, her sassy personality never fails to make the audience laugh, so she is a valuable asset to the show.

Wyatt

Wyatt's portrayer Dave King

Wyatt is not a character that the audience is meant to like. However, he is a very essential part of the series, as he turns out to be a bit of an antagonist in Gus’ work life.

Gus constantly aims to befriend him, as he is a mainstay in the writer’s room, but Wyatt is particularly cold to him. In fact, he even scolds him at times when Gus begins to annoy him. However, these awkward exchanges ultimately provide comedy to the show, so his character is entertaining.

Bertie

Bertie from Netflix's Love

Bertie is a marvelous character in the series for the most part. She does of course cheat on Randy with Chris nearing the completion of their relationship, but other than that, she is fantastic.

She practices a lot of patience with Mickey because she wants to build a very close relationship with her, even if living with her can be challenging. Also, her enthusiasm for American culture is nice element to her character, as he constantly looks to explore her new surroundings.
