Netflix’s Hit Fantasy Anime Shows Part 2 Will Be Even Better In First Key Visual

Netflix’s new fantasy anime, Delicious in Dungeon, has been a tremendous success from day one. In addition to the always stellar animation of Studio Trigger, the anime’s unique and humorous take on classic Dungeon & Dragons-style fantasy added a lot of charm to its story, especially with the medium still being overrun with isekai anime that all tend to follow the same formulas.

Delicious in Dungeon has been one of the biggest hits of 2024, and its second part looks like it will be even better than the first. Following the release of episode #13, a new trailer and key visual for Delicious in Dungeon’s second cour were released online, and both do a great job of setting up how much the stakes are going to escalate in the second half.

Assuming that the anime adapts everything that’s left in the manga, that means the second half could easily sell Delicious in Dungeon as Studio Trigger’s best anime in years.

Will Delicious In Dungeon’s Second Half Finish The Manga’s Story?

Produced by studio Trigger; based on the original manga by Ryoko Kui

Delicious in Dungeon’s second half is sure to be even better than the first, but something that needs to be addressed is whether it will adapt the rest of the manga. The first half of the anime covered roughly 4 out of 14 volumes of the manga, so based on that, Delicious in Dungeon might not be able to cover the rest of the manga in the second half of the anime. All of that depends on the pacing of the anime, of course, and how that ends up playing out should be made clear in the anime soon enough.

Delicious In Dungeon Teases a Bigger & Darker Story For Its Second Half

The tonal shift in recent episodes suggests that the second cour will take a much more serious approach

Through both the visual and the trailer, Netflix’s Delicious in Dungeon is teasing a much darker story for its second half. Laios and his friends defeated the red dragon and revived Falin, but their celebration was cut short when the lunatic magician appeared and separated them from Falin to brainwash her and turn her into a monster. Now, Laios and his friends have to directly challenge the lunatic magician to free Falin from his control, and the dark artwork and cinematography of the new visual and trailer suggest it’s going to be a far darker affair than what’s previously been shown.

Netflix’s Hit Fantasy Anime Has A Surprisingly Relevant Real-World Message

Delicious In Dungeon voice actor Kentaro Kumagai offers the real reason why viewers should be watching the new hit Netflix anime series.

The second half of Netflix’s Delicious in Dungeon is also set to have a much bigger story than its first half. Not only does the trailer hint at the political elements of the story being expanded on, but Delicious in Dungeon’s second trailer also hints at the dungeon, itself, being evil and needing to be destroyed, so the scope of the anime is sure to get even bigger. That, combined with the darker tone, means that Delicious in Dungeon’s second half can be an even greater story.
