Netflix’s 10 Major New One Piece Season 2 Characters, Ranked By Power

Netflix’s One Piece season 2 will introduce viewers to new locations and dramatic moments, but it will also boast a whole new cast of unique and powerful characters. With Sanji returning in One Piece‘s second season, there will be plenty of opportunities for more beloved friends and foes to make their live-action debuts alongside the Straw Hat Pirates. One Piece is notable for many things, including its beautifully animated characters and action, unique locations, and strong writing. However, one of One Piece‘s greatest claims to fame lies in the franchise’s perpetually interesting characters.

Many characters will have incredible debuts in One Piece season 2, as the first season has already demonstrated Netflix’s acute understanding of what makes the source material great. While some One Piece characters will be stronger than others, season 2 will no doubt highlight the nuances that make each new character great. Since One Piece season 2’s events will see the Straw Hat Pirates travel to many interesting locations, there will be more opportunities for some of the series’ strongest characters to demonstrate their abilities.

Vivi

Despite not having any Devil Fruit abilities, Vivi holds her own against many Devil Fruit users.

Nefertari Vivi is a teenage girl who, despite her young age, possesses an impressive degree of willpower, bravery, and determination. When she’s first introduced during the Reverse Mountain Arc, she’s an antagonistic bounty hunter under the codename Miss Wednesday, and combined with her loyal companion Karoo, uses her Peacock slashers to keep foes off-balance. Despite never inheriting any Devil Fruit powers during her tenure with the Straw Hat Pirates, Vivi still demonstrates a great deal of strength, speed, and agility – at least by normal human standards, further suggesting how strong she could be with a Devil Fruit.

Chopper

Tony Tony Chopper’s Hito Hito no Mi Devil Fruit grants him incredible strength.

Tony Tony Chopper is the Straw Hat Pirates’ medic, but despite his expertise in medicine, is just as capable of holding his own in combat as the rest of his crew mates. Due to the powers granted from Chopper’s Hito Hito no Mi Devil Fruit, Chopper can increase his size and strength tenfold, and utilize his incredible abilities to fight some of the series’ more physically intimidating foes. Moreover, Chopper’s intelligence combined with Usopp’s creativity has seen the duo combine their strength and marksman abilities to devastating effect, as seen during their fight against the Baroque Works’ Mr. 4.

Wapol

Wapol’s ruthlessness makes him the strongest force of antagonism during the Drum Island Arc.

Although Wapol is fairly weak compared to many other characters in One Piece‘s earlier arcs, he leaves a lasting impression on the Straw Hat Pirates and viewers because of his unique Baku Baku no Mi Devil Fruit, which allows him to bite through virtually any substance before manifesting it from his body. While Wapol’s Devil Fruit ability is fearsome, he himself is fairly cowardly once an opponent is able to fight through his initial assault. Nevertheless, Wapol will be one of season 2’s more formidable villains because of his political influence and his connection to the fearsome World Nobles.

Tashigi

Tashigi’s incredible strength, speed, and agility makes her one of the best sword fighters in One Piece.

Despite the mystery regarding Tashigi’s background, she endears herself to audiences during the Arabasta Arc as she’s one of the series’ most determined characters. As Marine vice admiral Smoker’s right-hand woman, Tashigi has a considerable amount of political influence over many of One Piece‘s characters. Furthermore, Tashigi’s swordsmanship is still impressive, even if she isn’t quite on the level of Roronoa Zoro. Nevertheless, Tashigi demonstrates an aptitude for becoming one of the greatest swordswomen when she deflects a cannonball using her blade, Shigure, after the timeskip.

Mr. 1

Mr. 1’s Supa Supa no Mi Devil Fruit grants him bladed arms and nails.

Although Mr. 1, also known as Daz Bones, hasn’t made his live-action debut yet, Zoro’s fight with Mr. 1 was teased in One Piece‘s first season. Mr. 1 is one of Baroque Works’ most formidable fighters, and his Supa Supa no Mi Devil Fruit is perhaps the greatest testament to his fighting prowess. Additionally, Mr. 1 is one of the most disciplined and focused characters in One Piece, so even when he isn’t engaged with someone in combat, he still maintains a commanding and intimidating aura and presence.

Nico Robin

Robin’s high intellect and Hana Hana no Mi Devil Fruit make her one of One Piece’s most formidable characters.

Although Nico Robin starts the series off as yet another member of Baroque Works, Luffy manages to convince her to turn over a new leaf. As the Straw Hat Pirates’ archaeologist, Robin ranks among one of the smartest characters in One Piece, and Robin’s Hana Hana no Mi Devil Fruit gives her the strength to match her intelligence. However, despite her impressive Devil Fruit powers, Robin can read poneglyphs, ancient texts containing sacred knowledge of the Grand Line. Because of this, the World Government deems her a serious threat, which effectively makes Robin stronger in a much greater context.

Smoker

Smoker’s Moku Moku no Mi Devil Fruit is one of the most versatile in One Piece.

Marine vice admiral Smoker’s commanding presence immediately suggests his aptitude for danger, and his incredible fighting ability coupled with his Moku Moku no Mi Devil Fruit, reinforces his strength. Smoker’s fight with Vergo is one of the greatest examples of his ability on the field, as Vergo pushed him to think outside the box. However, despite the number of fights he’s won, Smoker’s determination and sheer will are what make him one of One Piece‘s strongest characters. Since Smoker was teased in One Piece season 1, there’s a good chance he’ll debut early in season 2.

Crocodile

Crocodile’s business acumen and Suna Suna no Mi Devil Fruit make him one of Luffy’s deadliest opponents.

As the leader of Baroque Works, Crocodile’s legend is enough to make most characters in One Piece cower in fear. Additionally, his utter ruthlessness and Suna Suna no Mi Devil Fruit highlight his reputation even further. While Crocodile has demonstrated incredible feats of strength, speed, and durability throughout One Piece, his greatest strength is his mind. As seen throughout many of Crocodile’s fights and even non-combat-related moments, he possesses a certain level of cunning that allows him to orchestrate major events, and, even position to beat Luffy in combat twice.

Ace

Ace saves the Straw Hat Pirates from certain death with his Mera Mera no Mi Devil Fruit.

Luffy’s surrogate older brother, Portgas D. Ace’s Meru Meru no Mi Devil Fruit grants him the ability to manipulate parts of his body into intense flames, which he uses to combat some of Arabasta’s strongest enemies. Furthermore, as the son of Gol D. Roger, Ace was born with an inherent strength and boundless potential that could have eventually made him the king of the pirates. Despite his untimely demise, Ace’s life and death inspired Luffy to take his role as a leader much more seriously. Nevertheless, Ace’s influence is arguably what makes him one of One Piece‘s strongest characters.

Monkey D. Dragon

The true extent of Monkey D. Dragon’s power remains a mystery to many of the characters in One Piece.

Monkey D. Dragon is the infamous Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army, and his role as such automatically makes him one of the strongest pirates in One Piece. Among some of Dragon’s abilities are his mastery of various Haki and the ability of flight – which he uses to save Sabo from drowning, and legends of him possibly possessing mythical abilities. While little is officially known about the full extent of Dragon’s abilities, One Piece‘s second season can expand on his already established lore when he makes his live-action debut.
