Streaming services continue to be the go-to source of entertainment of many due to the coronavirus pandemic forcing theaters around the world to close temporarily, and while some have reopened their doors though only allowing a certain amount of people in, many people still don’t feel fully comfortable going to the cinema. Luckily, streaming platforms have offered a home to those movies that couldn’t get a theatrical release, and in Netflix’s case, it also keeps adding new content every week, ensuring that its subscribers always have something to watch.
Last weekend, the streaming giant welcomed a bunch of movies, most notably Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love, the post-apocalyptic thriller I Am Legend, the sci-fi slasher Jason X, and the drama The Pursuit of Happyness, along with the documentary Biggie: I Got a Story To Tell, the comedy-drama movie Moxie, the documentary miniseries Murder Among The Mormons, and the animated series Pacific Rim: The Black. This weekend, Netflix won’t see much licensed content, but it will add the sci-fi horror thriller The Block Island Sound, the comedy Just in Time, and the documentary Audrey.

Coven of Sisters
Coven of Sisters (Akelarre) is a Spanish drama movie releasing on Netflix this weekend. Set in Basque Country in 1609, Coven of Sisters follows a group of women accused of witchcraft who in order to postpone their execution lure their inquisitor into witnessing the witches’ Sabbath. Coven of Sisters stars Alex Brendemühl, Amaia Averasturi, Daniel Fanego, Garazi Urkola, Yune Nogueiras, Jone Laspiur, Irati Saez de Urabain, and Lorea Ibarra.
The One
Based on the book by John Marrs, The One is a British drama TV series that explores the possibility of finding the perfect partner through DNA matching. Set five minutes in the future, in a world where a DNA test to find the perfect partner is a reality, it only takes a hair sample for you to find the one person you’re genetically predisposed to fall passionately in love with, but with this discovery come some explosive implications. Soon, those involved in this revolutionary test find themselves at the center of a crime and a lot of drama from those supposedly perfect couples.
Yes Day
Netflix‘s Yes Day is a comedy movie directed by Miguel Arteta and based on the book of the same name by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. When they feel like they have to say “no” to their kids and coworkers all the time, Allison (Jennifer Garner) and Carlos (Édgar Ramírez) decide to give their kids a “Yes Day”, where for 24 hours the kids make the rules. Little do they know that this decision will take them on a whirlwind adventure around Los Angeles, that will ultimately bring the family closer to each other than ever before.
