Netflix: The Best New TV Shows & Movies This Weekend (July 22)

This weekend, Netflix will welcome the fourth season of a popular rom-com TV series, the final season of an animated TV series, and a highly-anticipated action movie. Although cinemas all over the world are open and working as normal again, many studios are still opting for a limited theatrical release and a streaming release shortly after, and Netflix has been among the platforms that keep their doors open for those movies. As it does every week, Netflix will add new licensed and original content this weekend, among those a movie that recently had a limited theatrical release.

Last weekend, the streaming giant added the buddy-cop movie CHiPS, the Portuguese documentaries Desterro, Soa, and The Metamorphosis of Birds, season 5 of LEGO Ninjago, the fantasy movie Pan, the movie adaptation of Uncharted, and the horror movie Umma, along with the docuseries D.B. Cooper: Where Are You?!, the action-horror TV series Resident Evil, and the drama movie Persuasion. This weekend, Netflix will bring the comedy A Stand of a Worthy Man, the Argentinian mystery anthology series The House of Dark Secrets, the action movie Trading Point, the Nollywood movie My Village People, and the Indian movie Footfairy.

As for original content, Netflix will welcome season 4 of a popular rom-com TV series, the final season of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, and the streaming platform’s biggest movie to date. Here are the best movies and TV shows coming to Netflix this weekend – July 22.

Season 4 of the rom-com TV series Virgin River is now available to stream. Virgin River follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), who answers an ad to work as a midwife and nurse practitioner in the remote Northern California town of Virgin River, thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind, but she soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected, and there she meets Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), a local bar owner and former U.S. Marine suffering from PTSD. Virgin River season 4 will see Mel preparing to become a mother, even if she doesn’t know if her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark, or Jack. Complicating matters is the arrival of a new doctor, who’s in the market to start a family of his own.

The tables have turned and now Six is the target and is being hunted by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former cohort at the CIA who won’t stop until he takes him out.
