Neil Gaiman Reveals His Favorite Good Omens Season 2 Episode

Good Omens creator Neil Gaiman has let fans in on what his favorite episode of the upcoming season 2 is. Based on Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the series quickly became a massive hit with fans of the novel and new viewers alike. Despite this popularity, Good Omens was said to be wrapping up after its season 1 finale and would remain a mini-series as Gaiman confessed he didn’t see it going any further. That was until June 2021. when fans were shocked by a Good Omens season 2 confirmation.

The latest season soon began filming in Scotland, set to continue Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley’s (David Tennant) story. This new information brought about a wave of reanimated excitement for Good Omens with audiences now desperate for more news about the series. Gaiman is regularly pressed for Good Omens details, though the writer chooses to remain quiet, prompting fans to wait and see what happens for themselves. Although, with the news that Good Omens season 2 has wrapped filming, fans are antsy to know more.

Gaiman’s Tumblr blog has been filled with these passionate fans asking for details and sharing their thoughts on Good Omens. Recently, Gaiman was asked about his favorite scene from the as-of-yet unreleased Good Omens season 2. The asker appears to have expected another “wait and see” response, but the writer instead tells them that he favors the entirety of episode 6. Gaiman hypes up the finale as, similar to the first season of Good Omens, season 2 has a 6-episode run. Check out his post below (via Good Omens News):

Although there hasn’t been an official confirmation, Gaiman is hopeful for a third season of Good Omens. The writer has already been busy plotting out the prospective future season and teases fans by stating that he has been setting up season 3 plot points since episode 1 of Good Omens. The season 3 script would tell stories from Gaiman and Pratchett’s unpublished ideas for more Good Omens projects, making season 2 a bridge to season 3.

As Season 2 of Good Omens is said to set the foundations for a potential season 3, it seems likely that the final episode will leave fans wanting more. Currently, Good Omens season 2 doesn’t yet have a release date. However, filming is finally complete, as confirmed by Good Omens director Douglas McKinnon at the beginning of March. So hopefully fans won’t have to wait too long to be reunited with their favorite fallen and retired angels.
