Napoleon & Killers Of The Flower Moon Are Reportedly Profitable Despite Bombing At The Box Office

Despite disappointing at the box office, a new report reveals that Napoleon and Killers of the Flower Moon have both been profitable. Marking two very expensive Apple original movies, both Napoleon and Killers of the Flower Moon are epic historical productions hailing from acclaimed filmmakers. Director Ridley Scott helmed the former project, which earned mixed reviews, while filmmaker Martin Scorsese is behind the latter, which was widely praised. Both movies, however, were disappointments at the box office, earning $220.7 million and $156.4 million, respectively.

A new report from Variety reveals that Napoleon and Killers of the Flower Moon did actually end up turning profits due to ancillary revenue sources. Although they weren’t big draws at the box office, both have been performing well on VOD. Both made it into the top 10 list of highest-grossing movies on the Apple app store, with Killers of the Flower Moon holding the number one spot for nearly a month. While Napoleon only just released on Apple TV Plus, Scorsese’s movie drove subscriptions and became the most-viewed on the platform in its initial 45-day window.
