My Hero Academia Season 7: Story, Characters, & Everything We Know So Far

My Hero Academia season 7 was announced on March 25, 2023, following the airing of the final episode of season 6. No details were revealed about it other than that it was entering production, meaning that at this time there is no known release date for My Hero Academia season 7. Given past patterns, it will likely be a year to a year and a half from that time before season 7 debuts, which would suggest a late Spring or even Summer 2024 release date. However, it’s important to remember that this is only speculation, and fans would be best advised to wait for an official announcement as its release draws closer.

The Story of My Hero Academia Season 7

My Hero Academia season 7 will open with what’s known as the Star and Stripe arc, following the American character who was introduced at the tail end of the sixth season, Star and Stripe. From there, the story progresses into its last arc, the Final War arc, which chronicles the ultimate clash between the assembled hero and villain forces, deciding the fate of Japan and quite likely the world. The Final War arc is currently ongoing in the manga, and has yet to conclude, so it’s unknown whether season 7 will cover the Final War arc in full, or if it will only adapt a portion of the arc, with the rest left up to a potential season 8.

The Characters of My Hero Academia Season 7

MHA introduces Star and Stripe as America's #1 hero.

Naturally, all of fans’ favorite students and pro heroes will be returning in season 7, and many have a significant role to play in the Final War. Most importantly, though, is the introduction of the new character seen at the end of season 6, Star and Stripe. Star and Stripe is America’s #1 hero, who has gone against orders to head to Japan and lend aid to All Might, who was a hero of hers during his time in America. Star and Stripe is incredibly powerful, with a Quirk that’s able to let her do nearly anything she can imagine. Will Star and Stripe’s assistance be enough to defeat Shigaraki and All for One for good?

My Hero Academia Season 7 Release Date

As noted above, no official release date for My Hero Academia season 7 has been announced at this time. Historically, a season of My Hero Academia takes a little over a year of production time, with the new season debuting almost a year after the previous season ended. That would suggest a release date no earlier than April 2024, and likely a bit later than that. Because the Final War arc of the manga has yet to be concluded, it’s also difficult to estimate the number of episodes that season 7 is planned to have. It will likely have at least as many as previous seasons, but if there isn’t enough content left for a season 8, season 7 could be extended.
