My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 11: Whitney’s Moving On After Babs’ Passing (But She Misses Her Mom)

My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 11: Whitney’s Moving On After Babs’ Passing (But She Misses Her Mom)

After her mum’s death, Whitney Way Thore has had different hurdles to deal with in My Fat Fabulous Life season 11. When Whitney made her debut on My Fat Fabulous Life in 2015, she was the girl who went viral for her “A Fat Girl Dancing” video. After opening up about her weight gain and early struggles with her body, Whitney realized that thinness did not equate to happiness and hoped to live without seeking validation from people.

For eleven seasons, My Fat Fabulous Life has documented Whitney’s journey through self-love and body acceptance. The reality star has been through many highs and lows, especially concerning her love life. However, Whitney has had additional hurdles to deal with in My Fat Fabulous Life season 11, including the death of her mother, Barbara “Babs” Thore, and the discovery of a family she never knew existed.

Whitney Attended An Alabama Crawfish Boil

The early episodes of My Big Fat Fabulous Life season 11 chronicled the loss of Whitney’s mom, Babs, and how the reality star has been trying to cope and help her dad, Glenn Thore, deal with the loss. However, the season’s dynamics changed with the discovery that Whitney has a half-sister, Angela Burdett, whom Glenn fathered over 40 years ago. The discovery led to a reunion effort as Angie invited Whitney and Glenn to visit Alabama and meet their new family members. Whitney, accompanied by her father, Glenn, and brother, Hunter, traveled to Alabama to meet Angie and her family on Dauphin Island, where they were vacationing.

After initial introductions, the whole family bonded over a large Crayfish boil, a new culinary experience for the North Carolina delegation of Whitney, Glenn, and Hunter. Whitney said about the experience, “It was like a community event. I mean, not really any plates or like tables or seats, everybody just you know, eating and sucking.” Nonetheless, Whitney confessed the whole experience was exciting per AL.com.

She’s Coming To Terms With Having A Secret Half-Sister

Whitney might not have found out about having a half-sister the way she wanted, but the My Fat Fabulous Life star seems to be warming up to the idea. After Angie and Whitney’s emotional first meeting, the duo continued their cordial relationship, hanging out on Dauphin Island with the rest of Angie’s family. Whitney looked excited about meeting up and getting to know her new family members, none more so than when the reality star refused to lose to her new niece in a family dance-off. After the death of her mother, Bob, finding out about Angie and her family seemed too much to process; however, the experiences have brought excitement back into Whitney’s life.

Whitney’s Still Searching For Mr. Right

Whitney has been very unlucky with relationships and her romantic journey has been documented over the previous seasons of My Fat Fabulous Life. With her 40th birthday drawing closer, the reality star has expressed her fears about never finding Mr. Right. Despite freezing her eggs years ago and constantly preaching her desire to have kids, Whitney still hasn’t found a man willing to take that step with her.

The loss of her mom, Babs, has further heightened Whitney’s fear of being alone and having no one to care for her when she’s old (via E!). Nonetheless, there’s still a lot of time for Whitney to meet her perfect match, and with her nephew already introducing her to a new potential suitor on My Big Fat Fabulous Life season 11, there’s still a lot to look forward to.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
