Ms Marvel Release Date Confirmed, Next MCU Show After Moon Knight

The Ms. Marvel release date is confirmed by Marvel to be this June, making it the next Marvel Cinematic Universe series after Moon Knight. Developed by Bisha K. Ali, the show will mark the MCU and live-action debut of Kamala Khan, a teenage fan of the Avengers and Captain Marvel as she navigates the tricky world of high school in Jersey City as a Muslim Pakistani-American. Kamala finds her life even further complicated as she discovers a special wristlet imbuing her with cosmic shapeshifting powers and putting her on the path to become the hero known as Ms. Marvel.

Iman Vellani is leading the cast of Ms. Marvel as the titular heroine alongside Saagar Shaikh, Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff and Mohan Kapur. Bad Boys for Life duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are leading the directing team for the MCU miniseries and executive producing alongside Ali and Marvel execs Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Brad Winderbaum. After months of eagerly awaiting their first official look at the series following a tease during November’s Disney+ Day, Marvel is rolling out exciting news for Ms. Marvel.

On the heels of unveiling the official trailer for the series, Marvel has taken to Twitter to reveal the first Ms. Marvel poster. The key art, which sees the titular heroine situated on top of a street light looking up at the stars, confirms its June 8 release date, making it the next MCU series after Moon Knight. Discussions of Ms. Marvel‘s release date have swirled in recent months as 2022 kicked off and various reports have swirled regarding it and other MCU Disney+ series’ arrival. Some reports pointed towards the Tatiana Maslany-led She-Hulk arriving in June while others have pointed towards the Vellani-led show bowing on the streaming platform first, including the now-confirmed June premiere. With Moon Knight just around the corner, it does come as a bit of a surprise that Marvel have already unveiled Ms. Marvel‘s release date as the studio typically waits until their latest show is at least underway or nearing its end until announcing the release of their next series.

Outside of the Ms. Marvel release date, the poster for the MCU series is sure to help build further excitement for the young heroine’s debut in the franchise. Though not offering much in the way of looks at her powers, the key art nicely displays her comic-book accurate costume, namely her flowing red scarf, while also teasing the cosmic adventures to come when Kamala returns for The Marvels next year. In the meantime, audiences can look forward to Kamala making her MCU debut when Ms. Marvel premieres on Disney+ on June 8.
