Ms. Marvel Actor Teases His Inhuman Character for MCU Disney+ Show

Ms. Marvel actor Rish Shah teases his Inhuman role in the upcoming Marvel Disney+ series. Over the next few years, Marvel Studios will bring several television shows to Disney+ as the MCU expands in a major way. One of those will be Ms. Marvel, the first live-action project centered on fan favorite character Kamala Khan. As Marvel’s first Muslim character to lead her own series, fans are quite excited to see Kamala get brought to life by newcomer Iman Vellani. Though Ms. Marvel has yet to receive an official release date, it’s expected the series will premiere in late 2021.

Fans got their first peek at Ms. Marvel last week when a sizzle reel for the show was released during Disney’s Investor Day presentation. While the early buzz is generally positive, there has been some controversy online over some of Ms. Marvel‘s rumored castings. So far, Marvel has only confirmed Vellani to be part of the series. As filming has begun, however, it’s likely some of these picks are a part of the show.

One person not involved with the #FixMsMarvel controversy is Rish Shah, who recently hopped on social media to hint about his role in the series. Shah, who will also be seen next year in Netflix’s To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean, shared some images of the Ms. Marvel character Kamran. The pictures, along with the apparent confirmation he’ll appear on the show, seem to reveal Shah will play Kamran within the MCU. You can see his post down below.

In the comics, Kamran is a love interest of Kamala’s who recently moved back to Jersey City. Like Kamala, Kamran is an Inhuman, and his powers were awakened when the Terrigen Mist spread though the city. When using said powers, Kamran’s skin turns a bioluminescent blue, and he has the ability to channel energy into objects. It sounds like Kamran will be one of the comics characters to make the jump to the Ms. Marvel series, though it remains to be seen how closely his role will stick to the source material. Nevertheless, fans now have an idea of which comics stories Ms. Marvel will adapt.

Ms. Marvel is just the start of Kamala’s MCU journey, as last week also brought the news that Vellani will appear in Captain Marvel 2. There could also be a space on the big screen for Ms. Marvel supporting characters, but that likely won’t become clear until the series itself premieres. As production on Ms. Marvel continues, hopefully Marvel will confirm more castings and characters in the coming months.

Ms. Marvel will premiere in late 2021 on Disney+.
