There are a lot of movies to keep up with in during the Summer 2012 movie season (trust me, I know); moviegoers need a place where they can get good looks at the movies being offered at their local theaters in the next few months – and that’s where we come in. Instead of making you click your mouse a thousand times just to get a look at the latest TV commercials, clips and behind-the-scenes videos for the movies you’re curious about, we’re pulling them all together in a handy media roundup post.
Today’s offerings include new TV spots for Marvel’s The Avengers and the fairy tale re-imagining Snow White and the Huntsman; new clips from Men in Black III and Chernobyl Diaries – the new horror film from the creator of Paranormal Activity; and new featurettes for Tim Burton’s Gothic comedy Dark Shadows and the history-meets-horror mashup film, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which Burton is also producing.

TV Spots: Avengers & Snow White and the Huntsman
At this point there is little need to further market Disney/Marvel’s superhero teamup The Avengers – but that isn’t stopping them from pushing the marketing campaign even further. Conversely, Universal still has some awareness to build for their Lord of the Rings-style take on the Snow White fairy tale, which is why we know that we’ll be seeing more of these Snow White and the Huntsman TV ads in the near future:
The SWATH TV spot features a rocking anthem by Florence & The Machine, and we’ve gone ahead and added a bonus featurette for the film as well:
The Avengers is in international theaters already and comes to U.S. theaters on May 4, 2012.
Snow White and the Huntsman will be in theaters on June 1, 2012.

Clips: Men in Black III & Chernobyl Diaries
Will Smith is back as Agent J in Men in Black III, and this time he’s heading back in time to 1960s to save the young version of his partner Agent K (played by Josh Brolin, doing an uncanny impersonation of Tommy Lee Jones), from an maniacal alien (Jemaine Clement) who wants to eliminate K and thereby alter the path of universe, leading to Earth’s destruction.
In these three new clips, we see J and Young K in a chase scene with Clement’s biker alien “Boris,” using some MIB-style vehicles (and questionable CGI effects). The second clip is basically an old west-style “saloon shootout,” in which J and Older K take on a gang of aliens inside a Chinese restaurant (using guns with questionable sound effects). The third clip features Young K trying to get to the bottom of who this “man from the future” is.
Chernobyl Diaries comes our way courtesy of a script from Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli, and visual effects artist-turned-first-time-director, Bardley Parker. No, it won’t continue the “found footage” format of the PA franchise, but will be something akin to the Hills Have Eyes, only set in Russia. The story follows a group of twenty-somethings who venture to the site of the infamous Chernobyl nuclear disaster, only to discover horrific creatures are still lurking around the wasteland.
In this first clip, we see the group of doomed kids touring a building in the Chernobyl area led by their Russian guide – who quickly discerns that they may not be alone:

Featurettes: Dark Shadows & Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
The new Dark Shadows featurette takes the time to introduce us to the weird of assortment of personalities in the Collins household – including a hapless matriarch (Michelle Pfeiffer), an off-kilter psychiatrist (Helena Bonham Carter), the shrink’s rebellious daughter (Chloe Moretz) and a soft-minded groundskeeper (Jackie Earle Haley). This cast of misfits gets even more twisted when their vampiric ancestor Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) comes home after a 200-year imprisonment, dragging his twisted witch tormentor (Eva Green) along with him.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter doesn’t want you to write it off just because of its silly name. To that end, the filmmakers – Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov, producer Tim Burton and writer Seth Grahame-Smith – are trying to convince viewers that their movie is less of a hokey-sounding genre mashup, and more of a “classic superhero origin story” that they are not afraid to compare with Batman.
