MoTU: Revelation Part 2 BTS Video Shows Mark Hamill Voicing Skeletor

A new behind-the-scenes video for Masters of the Universe: Revelation – Part Two shows Mark Hamill recording his voice for Skeletor. Masters of the Universe: Revelation, written by Kevin Smith, is the 10-part animated continuation of the original He-Man cartoon from the ’80s. Hamill voices the main villain, Skeletor, with Lena Headey voicing his evil henchwoman, Evil-Lyn. Additional cast includes Chris Wood as He-Man, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Tiffany Smith as Andra, and Liam Cunningham as Man-At-Arms, with many more surprising guest star voices throughout.

MoTU: Revelation – Part One debuted on Netflix in July with the first five episodes. Part Two is set to debut on November 23rd, 2021, and will pick up where the events of Part One left off, finishing out with episodes 6-10. Hamill continues to voice Skeletor for the second half, with Headey also returning as Evil-Lyn to complete their work on the series.

In a new behind-the-scenes video for the show, via Netflix, Hamill is seen portraying Skeletor and getting “into character” as the famed villain. A veteran voice actor, Hamill reacts to feedback from writer Kevin Smith, as they attempt to nail down one of Skeletor’s big lines from the second part of the show. Headey stands next to Hamill as they play off one another, providing an interesting peek at the process of recording their voice performances for the show. Watch Hamill work below: mjfy

While Hamill is typically best known for his work as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, he’s been a staple voice actor on a number of animated films and shows throughout the years. His most famous voice work is for The Joker, whom he’s played in a multitude of shows and video games, creating his own distinct spin on The Clown Prince of Crime in animated form. Recently, Hamill suited back up as Skywalker for The Mandalorian and voices the character Art Rosenbaum on Amazon’s Invincible series from Robert Kirkman.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation – Part Two is sure to entice fans who loved Part One back for the finale, although the show wasn’t without its controversies. Many felt that the show was downplaying the character of He-Man and attempting to move another character into the role, although the trailer for Part Two seems to indicate that is not the case at all. Smith responded to the controversy over He-Man being replaced in the best way Smith could, which certainly helped to clear the air on the issue. Based on what’s been shown in trailers and promotions thus far, it’s unlikely he’ll have to respond to it again.
