Most Unique Animal Crossing Island Designs

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has given players more freedom to push their creative boundaries than any other entry in the series. With many tools in their belt, lots of New Horizons players have run wild with what they can do on their island. And the fruits of their labor are truly something to behold.

Unlike previous Animal Crossing games, players aren’t limited to just placing furniture in their homes. In New Horizons, players can take full advantage of their island’s space by adding all kinds of outdoor furnishings. With the addition of the Island Designer app, players can also terraform their Animal Crossing island by adding cliffs, rivers, and lakes. In addition to this the app also provides access to a handful of different path options such as dirt trails and brick roads.

With all of these tools and features at their disposal, players have really taken their island to new heights. While some players have been slowly trying to achieve the coveted 5-star rating for their island, others have, quite honestly, surpassed it. These island designs are truly unique, and really push New Horizons to its limits. 5-stars really don’t do these islands justice, and many will have no trouble seeing why that’s the case.

Animal Crossing: Titanic-themed Island

Redditor foxymeg1 transformed their entire Animal Crossing island into the Titanic ship. From the entrance of the island, the player shows off intricate tile work and a large lobby area with steps leading up to the upper portion of the ship. Different parts of the ship include various bedrooms, luxury dining areas, a cozy library, and expansive deck areas. One of the main highlights in the video is the first-class suite that has an uncanny resemblance to the one featured in the film. This Animal Crossing room is gorgeously furnished and even has a painting of Rose, one of the main characters from the movie.

Animal Crossing: Cottage Fairy Island

This fairy cottage Animal Crossing: New Horizons island from Cotton Lace is truly magical. The player made excellent use of the game’s custom design system in order to create path designs that look like stumps and stones. Additionally, there are small pieces of wooden furniture, star fragments, and bug models scattered throughout the island to add even more whimsy. Including New Horizons’ cherry blossoms, which only grow during springtime, also added a nice touch, and definitely tied the entire island’s theme together. This marvel of an island is definitely a cottagecore enthusiast’s dream come true.

Animal Crossing: Horror-themed Island

This creepy New Horizons island comes from a YouTuber named No One, and if their villager doesn’t scare you, their Animal Crossing island definitely will. From the entrance lies multiple cemeteries and gravestones, littered with a ton of black roses. As the player walks around, viewers will notice blood splatters and trails in different areas throughout the island.

One of the main features is an abandoned school that has empty desks, more blood trails, and papers thrown on the ground. When the player goes deeper into the area, the viewer is shown a library with an occult symbol on the ground. This Animal Crossing island is pretty spooky and definitely not for the faint of heart.

Animal Crossing: Ocarina of Time Island

This island would definitely warm the heart of any Zelda fan out there. This island was created by @petalshowers on Twitter and was toured by YouTuber duo Steelo and Kri. The island is based on a variety of locations from Ocarina of Time. From Kokiri Forest to Death Mountain, this island leaves no stone unturned from the classic Nintendo 64 title. And to add a modern twist, petalshowers also added a handful of Koroks throughout the island for players to uncover like in Breath of the Wild.

These Animal Crossing: New Horizons islands are definitely standouts when it comes to their creativity. The game has been out for about a year, and it’s absolutely incredible to see what players have accomplished since the title’s release. With even more updates coming up, it’ll be interesting to see what players will continue to accomplish on their islands.
