Mortal Kombat 11 Character Roster Includes Kabal & D’Vorah

The Mortal Kombat 11 roster has grown with the confirmation for both franchise veterans Kabal and D’Vorah. These fighters join the rest of the confirmed cast in Mortal Kombat 11, which includes a number of icons from the franchise like Scorpion and Sub-Zero and even a brand-new playable character named Geras. Each fighter brings with them a number of unique traits that make their addition worthwhile for fighting game aficionados.

Admittedly, the roster has been growing steadily since Mortal Kombat 11 first hosted its formal reveal event. This makes sense given that the game itself is set to release in April 2019, so fans have had the benefit of being pelted with character reveal after character reveal. Even just a few days ago Kano was confirmed to return in Mortal Kombat 11, but now he’ll have some killer competition.

During two separate events both Kabal (last playable in Mortal Kombat 9) and D’Vorah (who debuted in the most recent Mortal Kombat X) were confirmed for the newest entry in the MK series. After teasing Kabal, developer NetherRealm Studios finally pulled the curtain back on the fighter during the aptly titled Kombat Kast. Then, hot on the heels of that announcement, D’Vorah was then confirmed during the Inside Xbox showcase.

Kabal was shown off in vivid detail during the Kombat Kast. Truth be told, the former Black Dragon enforcer looks more brutal than ever before, putting his speed and trusty hooks to use in order to completely dissect opponents. His Fatality is a true standout, however, is it sees him erode the face of a hostile fighter on the pavement as he drags them on the ground during a lightning-fast dash – all before Kabal runs ahead of the corpse and slices it completely in half. It looks like one of the more violent ways to go in Mortal Kombat 11, and that’s saying something.

Comparatively, we know relatively little about D’Vorah, as she only received a verbal confirmation accompanied by a new promotional image of the insect humanoid. Her inclusion was largely unexpected by fans, but a welcomed one nonetheless. Since she serves Mortal Kombat X‘s villain Kotal Kahn, this could be a sign that the baddie will also be making a playable return to the roster. This, in turn, also opens up the door for the rumored Reptile joining Mortal Kombat 11, as he too was a servant to Kotal Kahn during the events of MKX.
