Morbius: 10 Places The Living Vampire Could Show Up Next

Morbius: 10 Places The Living Vampire Could Show Up Next

Morbius might be getting mixed responses from critics and audiences alike, but that doesn’t mean he won’t turn up somewhere else in the future. Sony seems set on continuing the journey of their newest Spider-Man-related anti-hero and there are plenty of TV shows and movies that may be able to accommodate the Living Vampire.

Whether they are Spider-Man adjacent properties, linked to the mythology of horror-related Marvel content, or perhaps are even part of the wider Marvel Cinematic Multiverse, these projects could very much house Morbius moving forward. Of course, there are no confirmations right now, but it would be interesting to see these character interactions.

Morbius 2

A sequel to Morbius is pretty up in the air right now. Money is often the loudest factor in these decisions and the Marvel film is performing quite well in regards to the box office. If Sony wants to continue to round out their own separate universe then a sequel is inevitable.

Any follow-up would have to work hard in order to round out the mythos of this character and the world that he inhabits. While Morbius might have now been introduced, the reason for his existence on-screen in the first place really needs to be made clear to audiences. The Living Vampire does have a lot of potential though in his various forms.

Venom 3

The popularity of the Venom character and his respective franchise, alongside his MCU appearance, cannot be denied. A third film is almost certain as Sony looks to expand its roster of productions. Morbius and Eddie Brock are certainly heading towards a crossover at some stage.

Although it doesn’t have to be in a full supporting role, there’s a chance that Morbius could fit into any Symbiote-based sequel. A Venomized Morbius would definitely be interesting to explore, but the erratic nature of both these characters in the same scenes would surely lead to chaotic antics.

Spider-Man 4

Sony is definitely eyeing another movie within the Spider-Man saga, with Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi returning in some capacity. There are no plans on the table for the public to know about, but it’s almost an inevitability at this point considering the box office potential.

If Sony wants to cement their own heroes that they’ve recently brought to the screen then they would probably have Morbius turn up in some capacity. As a fellow scientist, Peter Parker would probably take interest in Michael’s transformation, but they are sure to come to blows. Would a fourth installment manage to factor in another franchise?

MCU’s Spider-Man 4

The MCU’s version of the web-slinger will also be continuing on his adventures on the big screen and there are hints that the Multiverse will come into play in future releases. Venom briefly crossed over and the Spider-Men from other universes were of course major components of No Way Home.

A fourth entry might want to bring in some of the Sonyverse characters alongside Vulture’s return after his own brief cameo in Morbius. The combination of The Living Vampire, Venom, and Vulture might already be enough antagonists for Peter Parker to face off against!

Amazing Spider-Man 3

Just like the other Spider-Man franchises, the universe of the Amazing Spider-Man Variant has been revitalized thanks to the success of No Way Home. Where that version of Peter Parker fits into the Multiverse remains to be seen, although there’s been a lot of talk surrounding his connection to the other Sony films.

It’s plausible that the Spider-Man of the Venom and Morbius universe might be the Amazing iteration. If that’s the case and a third part of the trilogy is finally put into production, Morbius might be making some kind of appearance alongside this established Peter Parker.

Sinister Six

The Sinister Six is a team that Marvel has wanted to get off the ground for so long. There have always been rumblings that they might finally make it to screen, but no incarnation of the group has managed to come together. These Sony projects could all be leading to that though.

If both Morbius and Venom were characters introduced to one day team up, then it would make sense that the next place The Living Vampire would be spotted is amongst the rest of the team. Other projects currently in the works indicate this is the most likely scenario.

Kraven The Hunter

Kraven the Hunter

Kraven The Hunter is another character Sony is developing for their own solo film. This supports the theory that the studio is looking to eventually bring these antagonists together, either to team up as the Sinister Six or to face off against a version of Spider-Man.

With Morbius now established on screen, bringing him into Kraven would confirm to the audience that this is all set within the same universe. It would help to create some of those ties between characters and nod to what could come next for the series.

Blade

The character of Blade is no stranger to vampires or indeed Morbius specifically. They have crossed paths with one another plenty of times in the comics and with the character returning to the screen in the MCU, there’s a possibility of a crossover here, that could play into the Multiverse themes of phase four.

Both Morbius and Blade play on the horror elements seen in some Marvel genre pieces and could tonally match one another well, especially in their Midnight Sons unit. It would also allow Sony’s projects to become entrenched further in what Disney+ are trying to achieve, but works with a natural link.

Moon Knight

The vigilante Moon Knight also uses so many of those same horror tropes and would naturally mesh so well with the tone of Morbius, alongside the Midnight Sons. He has also shared comic book narratives with The Living Vampire and has also spent a great deal of time bouncing off of Dracula.

With the combination of Morbius and Moon Knight, it feels like the current Marvel properties could actually market one another pretty well. They both inhabit quite bizarre worlds and from Sony’s perspective grouping Morbius with Moon Knight might give the character an ongoing franchise to cement them in.

Madame Web

Madame Web is yet another project that Sony has in development alongside Marvel, looking to bring the Multiversal comic book character to the big screen. With the nature of her powers, there’s surely evidence that all of Sony’s villains and heroes could be brought together in the project.

Plus, Madame Web might actually need a villain to face off against and The Living Vampire in his most evil, creature-like form might be a brilliant way to up the stakes of the film since he is already pre-established. Sony will want to keep these franchises closely connected so even a brief cameo as a scientist is likely.
