Monster Hunter Rise Is Coming To PC In 2022

Monster Hunter Rise is no longer a Nintendo Switch exclusive, as it has been revealed that the game will be coming to PC in 2022. The Nintendo Switch initially seemed as it was going to have a dry schedule in 2021 (at least before the recent Nintendo Direct), but Monster Hunter Rise was announced a while ago as one of the big exclusives for the system for the year.

Monster Hunter Rise is a game that is set to bring the series back to its roots, following the gameplay overhaul seen in Monster Hunter World. The local co-op is making a return (or at least it will when the pandemic ends), with four players able to meet up with their portable systems and go on hunts together. A couple of the new additions to the gameplay include the canine Palamute mounts, which can be used to quickly dash across the battlefield. The hunters now have access to gauntlet-mounted insects, which can fire a wire that lets them fly across the battlefield like Spider-Man.

The Capcom leak revealed in December that Monster Hunter Rise is coming to PC, which has now been confirmed by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto in an interview with Famitsu. According to Tsujimoto, Monster Hunter Rise is coming to PC in early 2022, as it’s something that has been highly requested by fans outside of Japan. He didn’t have any more details to reveal and said that it will be a while before Capcom has more to say about the PC port.

Monster Hunter Rise Is Coming To PC In 2022

The PC port of Monster Hunter Rise isn’t entirely surprising, considering how well Monster Hunter World did on the platform. The PC version can also explain why there haven’t been any Nintendo crossovers revealed for Monster Hunter Rise. The Monster Hunter games on the Nintendo 3DS featured costumes based on characters like Link from The Legend of Zelda, Samus from Metroid, and Isabelle from Animal Crossing. If Monster Hunter Rise is going multiplatform, then it would explain why Nintendo wouldn’t want any first-party crossovers in the game.

The Monster Hunter series has earned a huge fanbase across multiple platforms, as it’s easier than ever to join up with other hunters and play online. The local play aspect won’t be as much of a thing in the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise, but there’s nothing stopping old-school hunters from enjoying those kinds of experiences in the Switch version of the game.

Monster Hunter Rise will be available for Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021, and it will launch on PC in early 2022.
