Monster Hunter Rise Dev Teases Craftable Decorations, Rampage Rewards

An interview with director Yasunori Ichinose and Ryōzō Tsujimoto reveals an ample amount of information on Monster Hunter Rise, such as craftable decorations and the rewards from the new Rampage quests. The Rampage is a major threat in the story of Monster Hunter Rise, in which hunters will have to defend the gates of Kamura Village from a horde of monsters.

Monster Hunter has previously had two types of decoration systems in the games. Prior to Monster Hunter World, decorations were craftable and were key to granting more skills to hunter’s equipment. In Monster Hunter: World, decorations were obtained randomly as opposed to charms in the older games. This system had a mixed reception due to the importance of decorations in making armor, and RNG being the main obstacle in being able to make the build that players desired.

However, an interview posted by YouTuber Arekkz Gaming reveals that RNG decorations are supposedly no more and that they can be crafted once again. Arekkz states that Ryōzō and  Yasunori didn’t go into further detail on charms, but that they would be obtained through the course of the game. Another question Arekkz asked was what reward would be obtained through the Rampage quests, and while he didn’t receive a straight answer, he did state that the quests would give special parts that could be used for something special. Other questions included if there were different ways to use the weapons, to which Ryōzō replied to stay tuned to the upcoming Monster Hunter Rise digital event on March 8th.

The only other major aspect to be revealed about equipment is how charms will be obtained. Since decorations were craftable in the older games, charms were obtained through quest rewards, and the skills on them were randomized. Monster Hunter Rise could very well use the same system, although this time charms in Monster Hunter Rise use the same skill system as Monster Hunter World in that it grants flat skill levels as opposed to skill points. If skill level charms were obtained through RNG, this could lead to a new variety of builds, especially if obtained charms could potentially have all the levels of a single skill.

With only one more month till Monster Hunter Rise’s release, the amount of information revealed about the game will only increase. The news of decorations being craftable in the game is something that even Arekkz is very pleased of, and the amount of new information that comes out about the game only serves to drum up even more hype for the game. Given that Monster Hunter Rise’s demo crashed the eShop when it first launched, it seems more likely that the game will be a great success upon release. We’ll know for sure once Monster Hunter Rise launches on March 26th.
