A new poster for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has been revealed, showcasing Kurt and Wyatt Russell side-by-side in the Godzilla TV series. The Apple TV+ show takes place in the Monsterverse, exploring multiple timelines surrounding the franchise’s core organization, Monarch. Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell portray Lee Shaw, an Army officer whose past and present involvement with Monarch is the subject of the series.
Now, godzilla_jp has released a new poster for the upcoming Monarch: Legacy of Monsters series, which includes Kurt and Wyatt Russell side-by-side.

The new Monsterverse series marks the first time Kurt and Wyatt Russell have been in a project together since 1996’s Soldier. By casting both actors as the same character in different time periods, the new Godzilla show can avoid using CGI to make one of them look older or younger for the role. Because Wyatt is Kurt’s son in real life, it makes for an even more convincing portrayal of Lee in the series.
In terms of the show’s story, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will be expanding the titular organization’s role in the Monsterverse by exploring its history. While not much is known about the plot of the series, Titans like Godzilla are expected to appear throughout the show. However, it appears the human story of Lee and his interactions with Monarch will be the central focus of the ten-episode series.
With the show exploring different points in the Monsterverse’s timeline, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will be expanding both the past and present of the franchise. It’s possible the series will also set up 2024’s next Monsterverse movie, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
