MK11’s Spawn, Baraka, & Nightwolf Immortalized in New McFarlane Figures

MK11’s Spawn, Baraka, & Nightwolf Immortalized in New McFarlane Figures

Pre-orders for McFarlane Toys‘ next batch of Mortal Kombat 11 figures have gone live online, allowing fans to reserve action figures for Spawn, Baraka, and Nightwolf. McFarlane Toys has immortalized several MK11 kombatants in the past, producing posable toys for the likes of Noob Saibot, Kabal, Kotal Kahn, Sub-Zero, and Mortal Kombat’s version of the Joker and Spawn.

The most recent Mortal Kombat entry hit store shelves for consoles and PC in the spring of 2019, complete with a cast of characters that included longtime favorites and a fair few newcomers. Akin to previous entries in NetherRealm Studios’ rebooted franchise, MK11 received a long tail of post-launch content support that ranged from guest characters and new skins to gameplay improvements and the expansive Aftermath story expansion. The development team spread the guest fighters, in particular, across two separate Kombat Packs, with Spawn, Joker, Terminator T-800, RoboCop, and Mileena counting among the most notable releases. And while NetherRealm has since ended support for MK11, the fighter lives on through cross-media endeavors.

Today, April 22, Entertainment Earth (via Comicbook.com) opened pre-orders for a new wave of McFarlane Toys’ Mortal Kombat 11 line. Baraka, Nightwolf, and Commando Spawn make up the 7-inch, Wave 9 figures, which will launch on an unspecified date in July 2022. According to the product listings, each figure bears a $19.99 price tag, though customers can also pre-order a $120 bundle that features six of the following individually packaged toys: 1x Baraka Variant, 3x Nightwolf, and 2x Commando Spawn.

Such an announcement comes on the eve of a few other Mortal Kombat 11-branded McFarlane Toys releases. Notably, figures immortalizing MK11’s Joker, Kotal Kahn, Liu Kang, and Bloody Spawn are all expected to ship sometime this month. When exactly these specific products will make it into the wild presently remains a mystery, though.

What NetherRealm Studios is working on next serves as yet another ongoing mystery. All signs point to Mortal Kombat 12 being in development; however, many have high hopes that a third Injustice game will soon see the light of day. Whatever the case may be, NetherRealm remains silent on the matter. Supposed leaks and unending speculation persists as a result, with one rumor claiming Outworld General Reiko, who hasn’t been playable since the Armageddon days, could return on the MK12 roster. Another uncorroborated leak suggests the next title’s roster will essentially include every fighter from the past two mainline Mortal Kombat entries.
