A cosplay of Miles Morales’ newest costume is showing off just how epic this Spider-Man can appear. While Miles’ new suit has had fans on the fence, illustrator and cartoonist Devaun Dowdy isn’t hesitant to show his love of the suit. His cosplay of it is utterly amazing.
Miles debuted his new suit in September 2021 in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30. The look was designed by Chase Conley and it has had a varied reception among fans. The design is Miles’s second predominant suit in ten years and was part of celebrating the hero’s tenth anniversary. Miles has taken up the mantle of Spider-Man and is a fan-favorite Marvel hero, so it’s no surprise that his newest suit would find its way into the world of cosplay.
On Twitter, Devaun Dowdy shared his cosplay of the new suit and it’s stunning. The various pictures from the creator of the comic, GRIN, show different poses for the character while showing off different angles of the suit. This homemade suit looks incredible and really shows the potential that it has outside of comics. This cosplay is excellent and could encourage other fans to bring it to life as well. Miles’ fans finally have more options to show their appreciation for this Spider-Man.
The five shared photos show the outfit in various action poses. One even includes an effect of Miles’ spider-sense. The ensemble truly is amazing, down to the matching shoes. The details are all finely captured with the webbing along the side of the legs and the coloration of the gloves. The hoodie also has Miles’ revamped symbol on it. The colors of the suit’s design pop when off the page, making it truly eye-catching instead of allowing him to blend in with the night like his former suit could have allowed. Miles Morales is catching all the attention with this look and this Spider-Man cosplay shows it’s well-earned.
Miles has been rocking this suit since its 2021 debut and doesn’t show signs of stopping. While the reception for it has been mixed, Miles has stuck with it and comic fans who like it are standing up and showing what they love so much about it. Dowdy’s cosplay shows that it is a visually catching design that suits this Spider-Man’s tastes. Some of the action shots also make it appear as if it isn’t as much of a practicality issue as some comic readers initially thought it might be. It also looks great with a city backdrop. This is Devaun Dowdy’s first cosplay and Miles Morales would be very proud to see what his Spider-Man costume has inspired.
