Midnight Mass Actor Who Pitched Warhammer Movie Reacts To Cavill News

While the dust on Henry Cavill’s dramatic exit from the role of Superman is still yet to settle, Midnight Mass actor Rahul Kohli was quick to suggest the actor should move on to making a Warhammer movie. Despite returning for a Superman cameo in this year’s Black Adam and officially announcing his return as the Man of Steel back in October, doubts began to swirl over his place in the DCU’s future slate as James Gunn and Peter Safran began the task of outlining their overarching vision for the franchise. Those doubts finally proved true, as Gunn recently took to Twitter to reveal that the DCU would look to create a younger version of the character without Cavill in the cape. Cavill also made his own Instagram statement regarding his departure from the iconic role.As fans began reacting to the news, Kohli barely missed a beat as he suggested a perfect project for Cavill to begin turning his attention to. Well known for his love of the Warhammer table-top game, Cavill made a surprise visit to the world headquarters of Games Workshop earlier this year. Knowing this, Kohli, who also shares Cavill’s love for the game, took to Twitter to suggest the pair should embark on making a Warhammer movie or limited series together. With this latest blow coming fresh off Cavill’s departure from Netflix’s hit fantasy series The Witcher, many of the actor’s fans were left wondering what will happen next for the chiseled star. While some took it upon themselves to call for his return to the role of Geralt of Rivia. However, his new Warhammer series makes this very unlikely. Similarly, fan calls for Cavill to follow Daniel Craig as the next James Bond also seem improbable given producer Barbara Broccoli’s assertions they’ll be looking for “a thirty-something” actor capable of leading the franchise for many more years to come.

Cavill will not be limited by his Warhammer announcement. Not only is the British actor set to appear in the Apple TV+ spy thriller Argylle due for release next year, but he is also confirmed to star in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming World War II spy film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Meanwhile, Cavill also has long-running projects that he has been attached to including The Highlander reboot being helmed by John Wick director Chad Stahelski.

A Warhammer series is no longer an idle wish of Kohli and other fans. Given his well-known love for the hobby, Cavill is the perfect choice to lead Warhammer. In the meantime, fans will still have plenty of opportunities to see Cavill do what he does best even if he is no longer wearing Superman’s cape.
