Meri Brown shared an emotional social media post with Sister Wives fans after her mother Bonnie’s final days were shown on TV. The first wife of Kody Brown had to say goodbye to her mother during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and found the loss extremely hard. Now viewers will be able to mourn the loss of the matriarch with Meri.
In March 2021, Meri shared the devastating news that her mother, Bonnie, had passed away. Bonnie had often been seen on Sister Wives, and viewers enjoyed catching up with the matriarch. The mother-daughter duo had bought and reopened Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, which was once her ancestors’ home. Bonnie also helped her daughter run the B&B until COVID-19 struck. Sister Wives viewers will recall that she suddenly passed away on March 26 after just celebrating her 76th birthday.
Meri often posts updates on her grieving process on her Instagram page as she tells fans she is taking it day by day. After the Sister Wives episode aired about her mother’s passing, Meri shared a photo of herself standing with Bonnie, noting she remembered the day her “sweet mom” passed. Meri shared that she did not watch the episode but thanked followers for their support. She revealed she didn’t need to watch the episode since she lived the awful day and has already talked about it with her family.
Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Wasn’t With Mom At Time Of Death
The mother of Leon shared that she wasn’t able to make it to her mother’s bedside, sharing with Sister Wives fans that she was alone in her car “praying” she wouldn’t get the phone call saying it was too late. Sadly, Meri did not make it to her mother in time. However, Meri revealed she was thankful for all the support that fans sent to her via messages and comments. For Meri, Bonnie was a one-of-a-kind person who won’t be forgotten.
Meri’s goal is to now carry Bonnie’s spirit with her at all times. Sister Wives viewers are currently watching the large polygamous family cope with the fallout of Kody and Christine’s divorce. Meri has been relatively stoic and has shown a colder side. For Meri, losing Christine has not been the end of the world, and it looks like Sister Wives season 17 will show her teaming up with Robyn in hopes of reconnecting with the family. For now, Meri continues to run the inn and travel with her friends in hopes of making her mother proud.
