Meghan Markle’s Girlfriend Has a New Reality Show

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle’s best friend Jessica Mulroney has revealed that she has a new reality show. The stylist and content creator’s latest endeavor, I Do, ReDo, is currently airing on Canada’s CTV and will debut on Netflix later this year.

Viewers will remember Mulroney as one of the integral members of former Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s televised wedding to Prince Harry. She assisted her long-time friend in choosing the perfect gown for her exchanging of vows, as well as fleshing out the other stylish details of the ceremony. Mulroney’s golden touch is one that is especially timely, given the current COVID-19 Coronavirus crisis. Social media has been a hotbed of couples taking the plunge and live-streaming their I do’s to avoid contributing to the spread of Coronavirus. Not only that, but the public needs something positive and uplifting to watch, as opposed to the barrage of news coverage and political directives. With the onslaught of the current pandemic, I Do, ReDo will likely have a long list of aspiring brides and grooms lining up to take advantage of the show’s remarkable premise that will stay relevant for years to come.

Mulroney, who is renowned for her wedding planning skills, will partner with designer and florist Caspar Haydar. Together, they give deserving couples a second chance at exchanging nuptials that were marred by illness, wrongful imprisonment, family problems, and even natural disasters. Mulroney lends a sympathetic ear to each participant, oftentimes succumbing to tears while listening to their troubles. She takes them on a heartfelt walk down memory lane, from the events that unraveled their original wedding plan through a look at the day they initially wished for.

Mulroney opened up to the Montreal Gazette about the couples appearing on the show: “I was very lucky that all 10 couples were so open and honest and vulnerable and that they trusted us — and allowed us to give them something they deserve,” she said. “I think people will identify with their stories and be very much inspired by them.”

Now, more than ever, people need a distraction. So many couples have been faced with the heartbreaking task of having to postpone their weddings or downgrade their ceremonies after the recent global pandemic. Others have been affected by tornadoes, flooding, and other unforeseen issues. Being able to take solace in other people’s personal stories of weddings gone wrong will not only give them hope but will also tie a bow on an otherwise sad story when those couples get the do-over ceremony of their dreams. Kudos to Netflix for picking up I do Redo at a time when viewers need it most. Also, leave it to Jessica Mulroney for lending her sartorial good sense to a cause that will impact its participants’ lives for years to come.
