MCU Phase 5 & 6 Projects She-Hulk Can Return In

MCU Phase 5 & 6 Projects She-Hulk Can Return In

Now that Jennifer Walters is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, She-Hulk could return in several Phase 5 and 6 projects. After years of seeing Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) be the only Hulk in the MCU, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law gave Tatiana Maslany the chance to play his cousin, a successful lawyer who becomes She-Hulk through a new Marvel origin story. She-Hulk is one of the new MCU heroes introduced in Phase 4 on Disney+, as she is given the lead role in a solo series just like Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani).

She-Hulk’s debut in MCU Phase 4 is part of a larger plan for her. Marvel Studios has not come right out and confirmed what is next for Jennifer Walters, but taking the time to introduce her in this fashion indicates she will be a key character going forward. She-Hulk even alludes to this by having Smart Hulk mention that Jennifer Walters is at the beginning of a multi-year journey. While he is specifically talking about Jennifer learning to control her Hulk abilities, there is a meta commentary level to the line as Ruffalo reminds Maslany that has now joined the wildly popular franchise. The tease coming right after Marvel announced most of its Multiverse Saga plans is notable.

Marvel Studios confirmed the entire MCU Phase 5 slate and three of the most important projects in Phase 6 during San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ends Phase 4 and that seems like an unlikely place for She-Hulk to reappear, her next MCU appearance will come in Phase 5 or 6. The truth is that Jennifer Walters should be seen in both Phases in significant ways. Here are all the MCU Phase 5 and 6 movies and TV shows that She-Hulk can return in.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

MCU Phase 5 & 6 Projects She-Hulk Can Return In

It is possible that She-Hulk could return in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Thanks to Jennifer Walters’ career as a lawyer and her alignment with a superhero division, crossing paths with the Ant-Man franchise make sense. Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) has had his fair share of legal troubles in the past, and while he should be clear of any said criminal activities by now, She-Hulk would be a natural choice for him if he needs any other legal advice. It helps that Jennifer Walters is based in Los Angeles, which makes her closer in proximity to Scott Lang and his San Francisco roots than many of the other Avengers too. She-Hulk would not need to be involved in Ant-Man 3‘s main plot – unless they need some extra strength in fighting Kang – but the movie still presents Marvel with a fun cameo opportunity for her.

The Marvels

Captain Marvel and She-Hulk could cross paths if Jennifer Walters returns in Phase 5’s The Marvels. The Captain Marvel sequel is already packed with female superheroes, as Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) is joined by Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). There are even rumors of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) making an appearance. The Marvels is seemingly being positioned as a place where some of Marvel’s biggest female heroes will all interact, potentially paving the way for the long-awaited A-Force movie. Having She-Hulk appear in Captain Marvel 2 could be part of that initiative. It would be quite easy for them to cross paths too, as Bruce Banner could help set up a meeting between the two Marvel superheroes.

Daredevil: Born Again

Will Daredevil Appear In She-Hulk? No Way Home Set It Up Featured

Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most likely landing spots for She-Hulk’s MCU Phase 5 return. After Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Daredevil’s appearance in She-Hulk was confirmed. Since the two superhero lawyers are already crossing paths, Marvel could easily put She-Hulk in Daredevil to repay the favor. There are going to be 18 episodes in Daredevil: Born Again, giving the series plenty of time to include She-Hulk and other Marvel characters. Beyond potentially seeing Matt and Jennifer work together as superheroes, battle against each other in court, or even strike up a romance, She-Hulk’s return in Daredevil could see her join a revamped Defenders team – just as she has done in the comics.

Captain America: New World Order

She-Hulk could also team-up with the MCU’s new Captain America (Anthony Mackie) in Phase 5 with an appearance in Captain America: New World Order. The movie will continue Sam Wilson’s storyline after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Plot details are currently under wraps for what that will entail, but forming a new Avengers team is plausible. With Sam’s Captain America potentially battling the villain organization known as New World Order, it would make sense for him to form a new Avengers team to help fight them. Recruiting She-Hulk would be a sensible move for Captain America, especially since she understands the legacy part of Sam’s superhero journey.

Thunderbolts

She-Hulk’s MCU return could also come in Thunderbolts during Phase 5. The upcoming movie will unite some of Marvel’s biggest villains/anti-heroes, such as US Agent (Wyatt Russell) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). There has also been speculation that She-Hulk villains Abomination (Tim Roth) and Titania (Jameela Jamil) could be part of the Thunderbolts team. Given her connection to both of those characters, it would make sense for She-Hulk to possibly get involved with the team’s emergence. There is even the possibility that She-Hulk’s role within the world of superhuman law will put her in a position to legally bind these characters to whoever runs the Thunderbolts program.

Fantastic 4

Fantastic Four

She-Hulk could also return in the MCU’s Fantastic 4 to kick off Phase 6. There are not many details known about Marvel’s first movie starring Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing. However, it is expected that some other MCU characters will appear. Spider-man was long rumored thanks to Jon Watts’ involvement as the director and his close relationship to the Fantastic Four in the comics. She-Hulk could be Fantastic 4‘s big MCU guest star instead. Jennifer Walters has worked directly with the team in the past, even becoming an additional fifth member and replacing The Thing at certain points. Since Marvel Studios could expand the Fantastic Four team by including Reed Richards and Sue Storm’s kids, having She-Hulk work with them could work too.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

There is also a strong chance that She-Hulk will appear in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The Phase 6 MCU movie is the beginning of the end of the Multiverse Saga, and it is expected that this will be where most of the MCU’s new cast of heroes unite, if they have not done so before. She-Hulk will certainly be part of that effort, likely giving her a chance to interact with Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, and some other newer heroes. This could be the place where She-Hulk is first exposed to the multiverse and comes to understand how big of a threat Kang really is, so she will need to have fully embraced the superhero lifestyle by then.

Avengers: Secret Wars

Even if every other suggestion for where She-Hulk could return in MCU Phase 5 or 6 is wrong, it is all but guaranteed that Jennifer Walters will be in Avengers: Secret Wars. The final movie of Phase 6 will likely feature just about every major and minor Marvel character as the Multiverse Saga comes to a close in an epic fashion. She-Hulk’s strength will be needed as the MCU heroes fight whatever threat Kang has put together by this point. Having her play a role in saving the multiverse will fortify She-Hulk’s place as one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Will She-Hulk Season 2 Happen In Phase 6?

There is also the possibility that She-Hulk will return in MCU Phase 5 or Phase 6 in a second season of her own series. Marvel Studios has not announced plans for She-Hulk season 2, but the case-of-the-week format really lends itself to Disney+. Now that Marvel has broken the barrier of making second seasons of their Disney+ shows, there is a chance that She-Hulk: Attorney At Law becomes the next MCU series to go beyond a single season. If it does happen, Phase 6 is the most likely landing spot for Jennifer Walters’ show to return.

New episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law release on Thursdays on Disney+.
