MCU Fantastic Four Plans Can Make Doom Kang’s Successor

Rumors are going around that Doctor Doom will make an appearance in the end credits of MCU’s Fantastic Four movie, and he could be the one to take over as the next big villain once Kang is out of the picture. The movie is set to release in 2025, and it’s not hard to believe that Doctor Doom could show up in the Multiverse Saga as he is a major villain of the Fantastic Four in the comics. Whether he debuts briefly in the movie’s end credit scenes or not, Doctor Doom is the best villain to be Kang’s successor.

Doctor Doom is a major antagonist in Marvel Comics and has extraordinary powers that make him a difficult individual to fight. He can travel through dimensions and his genius-level intellect makes him incredibly tough to outwit. He has been in previous adaptations of the Fantastic Four team, and he’s a very menacing villain when portrayed correctly. While it seems he won’t be the main villain of Marvel’s Fantastic Four, an end-credit appearance can set him up to be the MCU’s next Kang-like figure.

Why Doctor Doom Is The Perfect Kang Replacement

Doctor Doom is a power-hungry person who wants to bring order to society by means of conquest, which is very similar to Kang’s motives in the comics. Doctor Doom and Kang even run into each other in the Fantastic Four comics and work together on fighting against the team. Surely, Marvel Studios doesn’t have to take this story and adapt it to the big screen, but it’s interesting to know that the two villains do cross paths in the comics. They are both extremely intelligent and possess access to time travel across the multiverse, and they have goals to conquer different worlds. Whatever Kang’s fate might be in Marvel’s Multiverse Saga, Kang can easily pass the torch to Doctor Doom as he knows Doom is very capable of continuing on with his goals.

When Could Doctor Doom Make His Full MCU Debut?

With Avengers: Secret Wars being the last installment of the Multiverse Saga and most likely following the comic book storyline, it’s very probable that Doom would make his full MCU debut in that film. In the comics, the Secret Wars storyline involves many of Marvel’s heroes being trapped on Battleworld, a planet made from destroyed realities when an incursion caused the multiverse to collapse. Doctor Doom plays a huge role in this storyline, and he even rules over the planet at some point when he steals the powers of the Beyonders, the cosmic beings who sent the heroes and villains to Battleworld.

This makes the most sense when it comes to setting up a new Avengers villain since Kang’s story will most likely come to an end with the final film of Phase 6. It allows a new major villain to come into play for the heroes of the MCU to battle and focus on a potential new saga while finishing the story of the previous antagonist. Doctor Doom is one of the more prominent villains of Marvel and making him Kang’s successor makes sense with the Fantastic Four joining the MCU.

There is still a lot of time before the Fantastic Four film debuts in theaters, so anything can happen with Doctor Doom’s character until then. It seems likely that he will fully appear in Phase 6 as that is when the movies most connected to the character take place. Doctor Doom as the next Kang or Thanos of Marvel would be a great path for Marvel Studios to explore, and potentially the hero’s greatest threat so far.
