MCU Fans Lose Their Minds At The Marvels’ God-Tier Power Upgrade Tease

Trailers and TV spots are ramping up for the release of The Marvels next week, and fans have started to lose their minds following the apparent tease of a god-tier power upgrade. The Marvels is the next big installment in the MCU and promises to deliver some pretty significant contributions to the Multiverse Saga. That is, at least, if several blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments from the trailers are anything to go by. One such tease has emerged in another trailer, which focusses heavily on the role of the multiverse and separate realities in the context of what appears to be an incursion.

Aside from helping to confirm that The Marvels will have a significant impact on Multiverse Saga, the trailer (via Instagram) mentions how the movie will feature separate realities bleeding into one another – no doubt thanks to Dar-Benn’s Universal Weapon. The appearance of what seems to be a powerful Marvel Comics persona known as Binary may tie into this – as while Captain Marvel has this form in the comics, it’s believed that this iteration of the hero may instead be another alternate universe version of Maria Rambeau, akin to Universe-838’s version of her as Captain Marvel in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Regardless of which character Binary actually is, if the hero appears in The Marvels, the MCU will introduce its most powerful hero yet.

Why Binary’s MCU Introduction Is A Huge Deal

In the comics, Binary is one form of Carol Danvers whose power is nigh-on unparalleled. After being physically merged with the fabric of the universe, Danvers’ cosmic abilities become unlimited as she is turned into a living star. These were the powers in the comics that allowed her to freely explore the cosmos, although the MCU’s Danvers has been flying from planet to planet for the majority of her tenure as the strongest Avenger at this point. Another, more consequential feature of her time as Binary, however, was the ability to demolish entire planets.

Suffice it to say, should Binary arrive in The Marvels – whether as Danvers or Rambeau – then the character will come with powers to rival even Thanos. Assuming Binary will not spend their time on screen demolishing everything in the hero’s wake, then they will at least be the perfect target with which to establish the true threat levels of Kang, or perhaps even Dar-Benn, as they successfully subdue the power of a living star. The prevailing theory is that Danvers herself will take on this guise in the MCU, but it seems as though Maria Rambeau’s appearance will carry some significant consequences either way.
