MCU Fans Hate Daredevil Was Not In She-Hulk Episode 6

Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for She-Hulk episode 6!MCU fans are angry that Daredevil didn’t show up in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6. As Phase 4 gets ready to conclude this year, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will serve as the last MCU original series for Disney+, while Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be the final film on the slate before Phase 5 kicks off in 2023. Throughout She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1, the Disney+ dramedy has explored Jennifer Walters’ origin story, serving both as a lawyer and a reluctant superhero who is still coming to grips with her new powers. Unlike some of the recent MCU shows on Disney+, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has a more extended episode order, as season 1 will end with episode 9.

While the show is centered on Jen, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has garnered the attention of passionate Daredevil fans. After several rumors, it was confirmed this year that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock would be stopping by She-Hulk: Attorney at Law for one episode. This will be Cox’s second recent appearance in the MCU, following his surprise cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While plot details are still being kept under wrap about his She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode, Matt will get his red-and-yellow Daredevil costume and work together with the titular heroine. In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 5, “Mean, Green, and Straight Poured into These Jeans,” Daredevil’s new cowl was quickly shown, setting up expectations that he would appear in episode 6.

As She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6, “Just Jen,” dropped, Cox’s fan-favorite character didn’t show up after all. “Just Jen” was primarily about Jen attending a wedding, which ended with her having another showdown with Titania. Despite knowing that Daredevil is showing up this season, many MCU fans shared their anger on social media about the show trolling its viewers after the tease in She-Hulk episode 5. Check out several fan responses from Twitter below.

While it would have made sense for Daredevil to show up in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 6 after the way episode 5 ended, it was never a promise that Cox would pop up this week. At this point, it wouldn’t be a shock if Matt’s appearance isn’t until episode 8 or 9, where Daredevil teams up with She-Hulk at the very end. While it’s understandable that Daredevil fans are excited to see Cox back as the character, it’s key to remember that this isn’t his show. Cox appearing in one episode is considered a massive bonus because, at the end of the day, this is She-Hulk’s show, as she is the primary focus of the series.

Since She-Hulk is fairly new to mainstream audiences, having Daredevil show up early in the season would overshadow the MCU’s latest heroine, who is still getting established in the franchise. Anyone tuning in for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law should be doing it for Jen, not other MCU heroes that are only there as guest stars. It’s also worth remembering that Cox will be getting his own Daredevil TV show again, as Marvel Studios are bringing Daredevil: Born Again to Disney+ in 2024. The same logic with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law also goes for Daredevil: Born Again, where viewers should be tuning in for the titular character, not another Marvel hero whose name isn’t in the main title. With only a few episodes left, frustrated Daredevil fans won’t have to wait much longer to see the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
