MBTI Of Game Of Thrones Villains

MBTI Of Game Of Thrones Villains

Game of Thrones is a series that is simply brimming with villainous characters. Whether it’s King Joffrey, Ramsay Bolton, or Petyr Baelish, each evil persona on the series makes our blood boil with rage. Luckily, all the sinister characters on the show wind up in their graves.

Although we despise the majority of these wicked characters, we can’t help but be fascinated by what drives them to commit such heinous crimes. With that being said, what are the Myers Briggs personality types of the villains on Game of Thrones? Read on to find out for yourself!

JOFFREY BARATHEON – ESFP

MBTI Of Game Of Thrones Villains

When we think of ESFPs, we usually think of people who are the human equivalent to golden retrievers. For the most part, people with this personality type give off a warm and energetic persona- For the most part. Every once in a blue moon, these “entertainer” personality types can use their explosive energy for all the wrong reasons.

Take Joffrey Baratheon for instance. He is the type of person who needs constant excitement and daring stimulation, or else he’ll go mad (as if he hasn’t already). This personality type needs to take risks and have fun at practically all waking hours of the day. For Joffrey, his idea of fun is torturing innocent people. Like a handful of people with this personality type, they prefer to live in the moment and act impulsively without considering the potential consequences for their actions. Since Joffrey is a spoiled king, there are no consequences.

CERSEI LANNISTER – ESTJ

Cersei sitting on the Iron Throne

Cersei Lannister is the queen of Westeros, and she refuses to ever let you forget it. Despite her royal status, she is a natural-born leader like most people with this personality type. Cersei is domineering and upfront, perhaps to a fault.

She is never the type of person to hold her tongue, and when she feels as though you aren’t good enough for her impossibly high standards, she will be the first to let you know. Cersei is smart, strategic, and always has a plan. Her personality leads us to believe that she is the ultimate ESTJ.

RAMSAY BOLTON – ENTP

Most ENTPs use their energetic and adventurous personas to charm their peers and expose them to the wild side of life. Ramsay Bolton, on the other hand, uses his personality to hurt others rather than to impress them.

Like Ramsay, ENTPs get easily bored and they need to engage in spontaneous (and at times dangerous) activities in order to feel like they are truly getting the most out of life. Ramsay doesn’t care about the consequences and he will go to extreme lengths in order to be satisfied. He is a twisted, sadistic version of this otherwise awesome personality type.

TYWIN LANNISTER – INTJ

Tywin sitting on the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones

Tywin Lannister seems to embody an unhealthy version of the INTJ personality type. When gone wrong, people with this MBTI can come across as cold, calculating, and at times, heartless.

INTJs care a lot about presenting themselves in the best possible light, and if anyone so much as thinks of messing up the family name, there will be hell to pay. This is why he hates Tyrion so much, because he doesn’t live up to the Lannister name.

PETYR BAELISH – INTJ

Petyr Baelish smirking in Game of Thrones

Petyr Baelish is another example of this personality type gone wrong. Sometimes INTJ personality types are able to use their wisdom and intellect for the greater evil in order to manipulate others who they deem inferior to them.

Petyr understands how to sway people in one direction or the other, and no one should trust him. His wisdom and cunning behavior gets him far ahead in Game of Thrones.

DAENERYS TARGARYEN – INFP

Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen

It is very rare that you will stumble across an evil INFP, because this personality type is known for their serene, harmonious personas. While Daenerys is originally portrayed as an idealistic person with a good heart, she lets her fiery passion get the best of her once everyone she has ever loved has died right in front of her eyes.

INFPs are led by their passionate personas, so the Targaryen phrase “fire and blood” seems perfect for this personality type. While INFPs are usually generous and civil, if you mess with their core values there will be severe consequences. They will get so angry, they will practically breathe fire! Talk about Mother of Dragons.

SHAE – ENFJ

Tyrion Shae game of thrones

ENFJs at their worst are emotional manipulators who have an ulterior motive when it comes to their actions.

While most ENFJs are wonderful, giving people who wouldn’t so much as hurt a fly, if you mess with an unhealthy version of this type, you will get burned just as Tyrion does.

WALDER FREY – ESTP

Walder Frey is a villainous man who represents all the worst traits of this personality type. While most ESTPs are charming and friendly with a knack for adventure, Walder is the exception to the rule and he uses his daring personality to cause great harm and destruction.

ESTPs are in it to win it, and at times if they are unhealthy versions of this type, they don’t care who they have to take down in order to get to the top. Sounds just like Walder who is willing to host The Red Wedding in order to gain his power back.

THE MOUNTAIN – ISTP

The Mountain isn’t a man of many words, but what he lacks in clever dialogue, he makes up for with his incredible physical strength. When it comes to Cersei’s guards, she needs the best of the best by her side in order to ensure her ultimate safety.

Luckily, The Mountain has trained all his life to crush the skulls of the bad guys so he is able to protect Cersei like no one else.

SEPTA UNELLA – ISTJ

And finally, we have Septa Unella, who seems best fit for the ISTJ personality type. The “shame” chanting septa is a character who is all about serving the gods and she lives her whole life according to the rules.

She is dutiful and obedient to a fault, and we don’t get to see much of her personality shine through because she refuses to show it. Her whole purpose in life is to serve the gods, and her dutiful persona reminds us most of the ISTJ personality type.
