The INTJ personality, the architect, is known to be individualistic and successful on their own. They’re incredibly smart, love to learn, and know how to use their knowledge to their advantage. They value their independence, logic, and reason and tend not to make decisions on emotion alone.
The INTJ personality appreciates learning new things, but they also get frustrated if they find a subject or person that doesn’t allow questions and constant review. They don’t like tradition and prefer innovation over the normalcy of how things have always been. Let’s review some Netflix original shows that the INTJ personality will love and some that they will hate.
Love: When They See Us (2019)
This mini-series tells the true story of the Central Park Five, a case that saw five non-white teenagers be accused and convicted of a heinous crime. The show delves into the police wrong-doings and the prosecution’s desire belief they did it that wrongfully convicted these young men. The INTJ personality will appreciate learning more about this real-life case through this mini-series and while they might become infuriated seeing the story unfold instead of backing away an INTJ personality might be determined to do something about it.
Hate: Disenchantment (2018- )
This show follows a young princess, Bean, who would rather spend her days drinking with her two odd friends, a demon and an elf, instead of adhering to any of her duties. An INTJ personality might appreciate Bean’s independent approach, but this would be overshadowed by her lack of direction, planning, and goals. They will also be frustrated with her apathy toward working hard.
Love: Ozark (2017- )
This show follows the Byrde family in their criminal actions as father Marty pulls his family into his money-laundering scheme. The INTJ personality will appreciate the cold and calculating nature of most of the characters in this series as they adhere more to logic and reason than emotion. Most characters care most about themselves and their families and that independence will appeal to the INTJ personality.
Hate: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015-2019)
This series follows Kimmy trying to live her life in New York after being found and released from a kidnapper. She lives an insane and unrealistic life with her newfound friends as she tries to adapt. An INTJ personality will be annoyed with Kimmy’s naive and overly trusting nature that turns dangerous.
Love: Punisher (2017-2019)
This series follows Frank Castle on his one-man quest to avenge his family and take down anyone who preys on the weak. He’s an anti-hero to his core and the INTJ personality will appreciate his need for independence and his trust in his own skills and knowledge.
Castle also is more logical than relying on emotions when he chooses to help someone, which an INTJ personality can connect to as well. They’ll enjoy watching his story unfold throughout the seasons.
Hate: Wet Hot American Summer (2015)
This series about camp counselors relies on ridiculous and outrageous moments that would never happen in real life to convey its hilarity. Its comedy is an acquired taste and the INTJ personality probably wouldn’t appreciate it and instead would be annoyed by the approach to comedy. Although across the franchise it is smart comedically the INTJ would want more of a challenge in a show.
Love: Grace And Frankie (2015- )
This show follows Grace and Frankie after their husbands reveal they have been having an affair with each other for decades and want to get married. Both are broken and find solace in each other after the split.
Although both of their families are unruly, the INTJ personality will appreciate Grace and Frankie’s need for independence. Both women make plans and contingency plans for how they can move on with their lives and won’t let anything keep them down and an INTJ will appreciate their ambition.
Hate: F Is For Family (2015- )
This animated show follows Frank and Sue Murphy and their family as they try to take care and provide for them in the 1970s. An INTJ personality will be annoyed and frustrated with the Murphy family as they don’t communicate with each other or plan for their future. Frank tries to provide for his family, but his emotion and pride get in the way throughout the series, which an INTJ wouldn’t be able to connect with.
Love: Mindhunter (2017- )
This show is based on the true story of the creation of a behavioral science unit in the FBI that was tasked with studying the psychology behind serial killers. An INTJ personality will appreciate learning more about the subject and it will probably prompt them to dig deeper into the true story. The INTJ will also appreciate the academic approach and the characters’ necessity to keep emotion out of their research.
Hate: The Umbrella Academy (2019- )
This series is about a man who adopted children born of a supernatural event and trains them to be superheroes. The children have grown apart but all of them return in their adulthood to their home when their adoptive father dies. The INTJ personality will be frustrated by the family squabbles and avoidable tragedies caused by emotional beginnings.
