“Maybe She’s Crazy”: Cassie Lang Actor Ready To Explore Life Outside Of Being Ant-Man’s Daughter

Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania star Kathryn Newton is looking forward to exploring who Cassie Lang is beyond being Ant-Man’s daughter in future MCU projects. Cassie Lang grew into a hero in her own right in Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quanumtania, helping her family fight off Kang. However, the movie also set up her desire to not only help people but also prove herself outside of her father’s name and reputation as Ant-Man.

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant for Lisa Frankenstein, Newton also discussed Cassie Lang’s future. She shared her desire to explore Cassie outside of being the daughter of Ant-Man as her own person. Newton revealed that she wants to discover who Cassie is on her own. Check out Newton’s full quote below:

Kathryn Newton: Cassie Lang in Ant-Man, she’s someone’s daughter, so I’d like to see who she is as her own little adult. But we’ll find out. Who is that girl? Maybe she’s crazy, maybe she’s not.

Young Avengers Can Allow Cassie Lang To Make A Name For Herself Beyond Her Father

Cassie Lang clearly strives to be a hero. At the beginning of Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, she gets into trouble trying to help and laments her father’s willingness to step back from being a hero with so many people still suffering. She sets off the events that trap her family in the Quantum Realm while experimenting with the enigmatic space. She also does everything she can to help the people of the Quantum Realm and fight against Kang’s oppression alongside her family.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sets up Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) as a future hero. Here’s Cassie Lang’s superhero comic origins explained.

Newton’s desire to explore Cassie outside Ant-Man’s shadow mirrors her character’s. Luckily, it seems Marvel has already laid the groundwork to delve into Cassie’s journey as her own hero. The Marvels has primed a Young Avengers team-up with Kamala Khan, recruited Kate Bishop, and mentioned Ant-Man’s daughter. This tease seems like the start of a new team, which Newton is excited about exploring.

She has grown up surrounded by superheroes and has wanted to pick up the mantle since she was a child. Cassie also understands, better than most young heroes, the toll that this life can take after losing her father for years. Perhaps the most telling aspect of the Young Avengers tease is the fact that Kamala identifies Cassie simply as Ant-Man’s daughter. While Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania began her journey as a superhero, a Young Avengers project can help Cassie take the next steps, revealing her identity beyond being the daughter of Scott Lang.
