Masters of the Universe Star Shows Off His Ripped Body for He-Man Role

Masters of the Universe star Noah Centineo shows off his ripped physique for his (potentially) upcoming stint as He-Man. Sony’s latest attempt at bringing Masters of the Universe to the big screen has suffered a long development process. The studio began assembling a creative team back in 2007, but over the years, Masters of the Universe has changed directors multiple times. Most recently, the reboot seemed to settle on Aaron and Adam Nee (Band of Robbers) to direct, with Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man, Men in Black: International) tapped to write the script.

Further progress was made in April 2019, when Centineo confirmed he would star as He-Man. Centineo rose to fame after appearing in a slew of Netflix rom-coms, the most notable being To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Masters of the Universe soon scored a 2021 release date, and it seemed like Sony finally had a grasp on the project. However, rumors emerged last fall that Sony was contemplating selling Masters of the Universe to Netflix, and earlier this year, the film was pulled off the release calendar entirely and replaced by Uncharted, which recently, finally began production.

Centineo is still attached to Masters of the Universe, and he recently hopped on social media to show off his body. From the pictures alone, it’s safe to say he would make a solid He-Man. Centineo also added the caption, “The question is.. should I start training again?“, potentially indicating training is something he’ll have to do soon. You can see Centineo’s post down below.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s a chance Centineo isn’t preparing for Masters of the Universe at all, but DC’s Black Adam. Back in July, news broke that Centineo will play Atom Smasher in Dwayne Johnson’s long-awaited DCEU debut. Production on that film was supposed to begin this summer, but the coronavirus pandemic has forced some changes. Reportedly, Black Adam is waiting until 2021 to begin filming. If Masters of the Universe is unable to film before then (which sadly seems likely), then Centineo will have to wait until after Black Adam.

Right now, the future of Masters of the Universe is very much unclear. Sending it to Netflix could be a smart move for Sony, especially since the streaming service already has several animated shows within the universe. However, the lack of updates makes one wonder if Masters of the Universe will ever come to pass. At least fans can rest assured that, if it ever does, Centineo is more than ready.
