Mastering Moments in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team

Mastering Moments in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team

The newest mode within Ultimate Team in FIFA 23 is Moments. This year’s instalment in EA Sport’s football series was released at the end of September with Ultimate Team continuing to be the focal point for the majority of players. Moments offer bite-size challenges, similar to skill games, which have featured in the series for years, but in match scenarios with players Ultimate Team squads.

Moments are completed in single-player against AI teams and are a great training environment for players to try out newly packed cards, as well as offering rewards. It is a mix of skill games with elements of Squad Building Challenges and Chemistry thrown in. Each scenario ends immediately once a moment is completed or failed with a restart option if required making the whole mode a real quick and snappy alternative to matches.

When players jump into Moments it is easy to be overwhelmed due to the sheer volume of challenges available. While not challenging, Pitch Perfect offers a great place to start as well as providing an alternative for new players to the series rather than having to jump straight into matches. These start from simple passing scenarios and scoring challenges to winning the ball back in defense. While many of these will be boring for experienced players the moments are still worth doing in the opening weeks of FIFA 23 with 53 stars up for grabs in the first section.

Is Playing Moments Worth It For Ultimate Team Players

Moments add a new currency to FIFA 23 that can only be spent in this mode. Most moments reward players with one star, but some offer more if players can complete challenges on higher difficulties. For the launch of the game, rewards are limited to the most basic packs but ones that can provide useful additions to starting squads. Currently, Jumbo Premium Gold Players Packs are the most expensive available for 64 stars. These packs normally cost 50,000 coins in the regular store so in the earlier stages of the game are certainly worth grinding through the Moments to earn. The new mode also offers specific player and team items to buy as an alternative to packs that can’t be purchased anywhere else in FIFA 23.

Alongside Pitch Perfect, there are currently another five groups of challenges for players to tackle with varying difficulty levels. These include specific time-limited challenges from day one for one of the best players in the game Kylian Mbappe. These differ from the basic challenges which bring in a squad-building element with requirements for teams. Mbappe’s challenges include using so many players in squads from Monaco, PSG, and France. The difficulty for most of these challenges is greater than the basic course, but regulars of the series will still easily be able to complete them in a few attempts. More manager and player-specific challenges are sure to be added through the season with hopefully some scenarios from real-life fixtures potentially from the World Cup. Currently, there are only a handful of moments that have more than two stars available, but as the year goes on this will increase and those on Ultimate difficulty will provide a test for the most experienced players.

Despite there already being endless content in FIFA 23, Moments are a welcome addition to the package offering something different for players. It is easy to pick up and play giving a great base for players new to the series to step into Ultimate Team without it being too daunting. Moments provide addictive and testing challenges in FIFA 23 for those who are limited on time as well as providing an alternative to the grind of matches for players.
