Masked Singer: LeAnn Rimes’ Personal & Career Life Before Being Sun On Season 4

Before LeAnn Rimes competed on The Masked Singer as The Sun, she was well known for being a popular multi-genre singer/songwriter. The “How Do I Live” singer has seen several of her hits on top charts over the course of her career. However, she has an interesting personal life as well.

From the moment she sang her first song as The Sun, the judges and fans of the competition series knew she would make it far in the show. While many of the judges did guess The Sun was LeAnn, they were still shocked someone as talented as LeAnn would grace the stage of their show.

According to Britannica, LeAnn was born August 28, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi. At the age of 13, she gained notoriety for her rendition of the song “Blue” by Bill Mack. Fans began to love LeAnn and her music, as her voice has a striking similarity to country singer, Patsy Cline. At just eight years old, LeAnn competed on Star Search where she first gained national exposure. Three years later, she recorded her first full-length album for a local independent label and was later signed to Curb Records. After she was signed to Curb Records, her career really began to take off, and she debuted her first album “Blue” in 1996. It gave LeAnn her first number one hit and she received two Grammys after the success of the album. She later transitioned from country to a more pop and contemporary sound with her album Twisted Angel, which was released in 2002. According to The Famous People, LeAnn is much more than just a singer; she is also an author. At just 15 years old, LeAnn wrote her first fiction novel and later wrote two children’s books as well. She later dabbled in acting when she made an appearance in Coyote Ugly and sang on the soundtrack.

In 2000, LeAnn had filed a lawsuit against her father, Wilbur Rimes, for taking around seven million dollars from her while managing her record label. Shortly after the lawsuit was settled out of court, she and her father were able to make amends. LeAnn married former dancer, Dean Sheremet in 2002 after meeting during the Academy of Country Music awards ceremony. Later in 2009 on the set of the Lifetime film, Northern Lights, LeAnn met Eddie Cibrian, who was married to reality star Brandi Glanville at the time. The two began an affair, which was later publicized in the news after a security camera caught them kissing. They both divorced their respective spouses and began a serious relationship together. The couple got engaged a year later and then married in a private home ceremony in California in April 2011. Hopefully, LeAnn’s time as The Sun will help viewers remember her as a talented country pop star and forget about the scandalous affair.
