Masked Singer: Armadillo Falls On Stage While Attempting Dance Move

The Masked Singer contestant Armadillo took a pretty hard fall in a clip of one of his performances. The contestant made his debut during The Masked Singer season 7’s fourth episode alongside Ringmaster, Miss Teddy, Hydra and Lemur; the latter was later revealed to be supermodel Christie Brinkley. He performed “Secret Agent Man” by Johnny Rivers, and as always, the panelists had some pretty outrageous guesses. At first, they thought he might be someone young due to his ability to dance and move around on stage. However, when it was time to start guessing, the panelists threw out everyone from Chuck Norris to Vin Diesel. His clue package included a lot of hints at his identity, including beefcake, red boulders, and a bow and arrow.

Armadillo’s fall is not the first safety scare on The Masked Singer this season. Season 7 has been full of dramatic moments, like Firefly’s incident during her first performance. The contestant took the stage to perform “Ain’t Nobody” by Chaka Khan, but right as she began singing, she started choking. Panelist Ken Jeong called for paramedics, and the performer had to be rushed off the stage. Luckily, she returned later in the show and blew the panelists and the live studio audience away. Fans later found out that The Masked Singer also had some safety concerns around Hydra’s costume and had to take precautions to make it safer for the celebrities inside.

But it looks like The Masked Singer will be encountering another issue with the fall of Armadillo. In a clip obtained by TMZ, Armadillo attempts a dance move that unfortunately lands him on the ground. The video reveals the contestant mid-performance kicking his leg up and, unfortunately, falling over as he does so. His backup dancers stop immediately and rush to help the contestant up while the panelists watch on in horror.

Jenny McCarthy’s mouth drops open as she clasps her head, while Ken runs from the table to see if the performer is okay. According to TMZ, everyone on set were very concerned that the celebrity would get badly injured. Producers also worried that the fall would damage the costume beyond repair. Luckily, the contestant stood back up and kept singing, and his Armadillo costume didn’t seem damaged either.

The Masked Singer is certainly seeming a little dangerous this season. Hopefully, from here on out, there will be no more safety scares. But with some of the elaborate costumes this season, contestants should probably be careful. The fans and panelists certainly don’t want to see anyone getting injured on such a fun, uplifting show. It’s good to see that Armadillo was able to make such a quick recovery because, as they say, the show must go on.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
