Marvel’s New Galactus Hulk Shows Readers Still Don’t Know His True Form

Marvel’s New Galactus Hulk Shows Readers Still Don’t Know His True Form

Warning! Spoilers for Hulk #6 by Marvel Comics

The Hulk is facing off against some of the most powerful villains in the Marvel Comics universe, and in doing so, readers are reminded that Galactus’ true form is really in the eyes of the beholder. In a brand new preview for Hulk #6, the Jade Giant’s Engine Room is pushed to level nine, unleashing some of the biggest threats in the cosmos against the hero. However, when he faces Galactus, he sees him as a Hulk, showing that the villain appears differently depending on who is looking at him.

In the pages of Marvel Comics, Galactus originally had a humanoid form, looking quite different from the villain most readers know today. As Galan of Taa, he appeared reasonably normal compared to the giant purple massive, planet-eating form he took when he became the Devourer of Worlds. However, as Galactus, he had an adaptable appearance, meaning whoever is looking at him perceives the world-destroying villain as their own form. It’s why Galactus appears as different alien forms when looked at by them. Now, Marvel is introducing Galactus’ Hulk form, who is as terrifying as he sounds.

In a brand new preview for Hulk #6 by Donny Cates, Ryan Ottley, Cliff Rathburn, Frank Martin, and VC’s Cory Petit, someone (or something) pretending to be Betsy Ross has taken control of Starship Hulk.  With Bruce Banner pushed to the side, Ross pushes the Engine Room (fueling Hulk’s rage) to stage nine, which unleashes a powerful series of universal constants, including Adam Warlock, Thanos, Blackbolt, The Living Tribunal, and Galactus – the latter of whom takes on a new form.

The Hulk-Galactus combination even confuses whoever is behind the wheel of Starship Hulk, as they note the villain has taken on the appearance of the Jade Giant for unknown reasons. However, considering Galactus always appears in the form of those who perceive him, it makes sense that the Hulk inside the Engine Room would see his true form as a monster himself. Unfortunately for the Hulk, Galactus Hulk and the other superpowered Engine Room creations seem to be too much for even him to handle.

While Galactus’ true form has been teased as some sort of energy being in the past, the Hulk version of the villain reminds readers that his true form as the Devourer of Worlds still is somewhat unknown. But, for the Hulk, that doesn’t really matter, as he’s just fighting to survive against the new controller of the Engine Room and the vicious monsters, Galactus-Hulk included, thrown his way. Hulk #6 by Marvel Comics is in stores Wednesday.
