Marvel’s Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur Show Is Awesome & Coming Soon

Marvel’s Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur Show Is Awesome & Coming Soon

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is “awesome” and “coming soon,” according to the show’s executive producer. While Marvel’s series on Disney+ currently demand much attention, there have also been various animated shows over the years spread out across Disney’s affiliates that aren’t directly tied to the continuity of the MCU. One of the most recent examples was M.O.D.O.K. on Hulu, but Disney Channel and Disney XD have been the primary hub for Marvel’s animated fare.

Since 2012, Disney XD has aired a slew of animated shows focusing on Spider-Man, The Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy. In 2018, it was announced that Marvel was developing an animated show for the Disney Channel based on a lesser-known property: the Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur comic series. The show is being developed by none other than Laurence Fishburne. Since the cast was announced earlier this year, there haven’t been many updates on the show until one of its executive producers recently spoke up.

In an interview with Comicbook, Steve Loter talked about his other upcoming Disney Channel show, The Ghost and Molly McGee, when he was asked about Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Given Marvel’s reputation surrounding secrecy, Louter could only say, “It’s awesome, and it’s coming soon.” His collaborator, Bill Motz, could also “confirm it’s awesome.”

Marvel’s Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur Show Is Awesome & Coming Soon

While Loter’s tease was as vague as possible, fans will be happy to hear he has confidence in the show, and it is coming soon. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is currently slated to premiere sometime in February of 2022. Still, the Disney Channel has yet to set an exact date. The show’s executive producer was careful not to reveal any plot details. What is known is that Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur will follow the adventures of its titular duo, a 13-year-old super-genius named Lunella Lafayette who accidentally transports her 10-ton T-Rex to present-day New York City through a time vortex.

Much of the voice cast has also been announced, including Diamond White as Lunella and Fred Tatasciore as her dinosaur. Along with serving as an executive producer, Laurence Fishburne will voice the godlike being known as The Beyonder. With this voice cast and a character like Lunella, commonly considered Marvel’s smartest character, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur certainly has the potential to be awesome. Fans will have to wait until February 2022 to know for sure.
