Marvel’s Midnight Suns Will Let You Create Your Own Comic Covers

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Will Let You Create Your Own Comic Covers

Marvel’s Midnight Suns promises to give players plenty of customization options, including the ability to create custom comic book covers inspired by their latest mission. Firaxis Games’ tactical superhero RPG will explore the darker and more supernatural side of the Marvel Universe by putting players in control of a new hero known as the Hunter – who in turn will join forces with established Marvel characters like Wolverine and Spider-Man to stop a demonic army from taking over the world.

Along this journey, players will use Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ card-based combat gameplay to fend off the forces of evil, and can even be rewarded for their efforts with customizable comic book covers. Marvel’s Midnight Suns creative director Jake Solomon recently sat down for an exclusive interview with The Direct and described this newly revealed feature. According to Solomon, after every mission, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will “procedurally-generate a custom comic book cover and put all the heroes, or the villains that were on the mission, and it will pose them.” From there, the player will be able to move said characters around and alter their facial expressions to create their own action-packed cover to share on social media.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Comic Book Creator Will Let Players Get Creative

Jake Solomon notes that his team hasn’t touched on Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ comic cover creator since it won’t define how players experience the game, but he is still excited to see what fans come up with. This is just one of the many customization options that Midnight Suns provides, as the Hunter can be built from the ground up. In addition to their appearance and gender, players can craft the Hunter’s light and dark powers using the game’s ability tree. The Hunter’s personality can also be defined by making dialogue choices in Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Abbey hub, though fans won’t be able to strike up a romance with the likes of Captain America or Iron Man while saving the world from the forces of darkness.

Still, it will be interesting to see what players create using Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ newly-announced comic book cover generator. Previous Marvel games like Marvel’s Spider-Man have featured in-depth Photo Modes that allow players to capture intense in-game action shots or even a funny Spidey selfie. Some more dedicated players have even used Marvel’s Spider-Man’s Photo Mode to recreate the covers of past Spider-Man games or create impressive fan posters for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

While Jake Solomon admits that Marvel Midnight Suns’ comic book cover generator won’t have a major impact on how players experience the game, it stands to reason that fans will use this new feature to create and share some impressive images of the titular Midnight Suns in action. The internet won’t have to wait too much longer to see these custom Marvel’s Midnight Suns comic book covers either, as the game is currently set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles on December 2, 2022.
