Marvel’s Avengers Beta: Black Widow Character Guide (Tips, Tricks, & Strategies)

Marvel’s Avengers beta will be coming soon and there will be quite a few heroes available to try out. This guide will showcase what Black Widow is all about.

There will be an open beta for Marvel’s Avengers that will be available for all platforms on August 21-23. Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, this newest superhero adventure will have a full release worldwide on September 4, 2020. In relation to the MCU, Marvel’s Avengers is a new videogame that enables players to select their favorite hero out of the roster and fight their way through online co-operative missions and an epic single-player campaign. The story will focus on Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) unearthing a conspiracy that’s wrapped around an Earth-shattering event called “A-Day” that relates to the “death” of Captain America and the disbanding of The Avengers. People all over the world are transforming into superpowered creatures and wreaking havoc that’s caused by an airborne substance called the ‘Terrigen Mist’. It’s up to Khan to find The Avengers, re-assemble them, and find out what really happened on “A-Day” and who was really pulling the strings behind it.

Marvel’s Avengers is an action-adventure game where players can freely choose their favorite Avenger and send them out on missions to crush a variety of Marvel’s villains, classic and new alike. Up to four players can play co-operatively online, or solo offline. There are RPG elements peppered into this game that gives players a little wiggle room to change the aesthetics of their character and there’s even a skill tree to unlock. Throughout Marvel’s 80 year history, there’s every type of costume hidden and can be collected and used with added perks. Players can upgrade their characters and mold them in a variety of ways to further suit their playstyle. Each character has a distinct moveset and a unique feel to their controls. Iron Man can hang back and provide air support, while Captain America shines with his melee combos and charging attacks. Every character brings something useful to the battlefield that reflects on their own superpowers and persona. The most relatable character is Black Widow, given that she uses standard military garb and weaponry for her attacks. She is clearly the most nimble out of all of the Avengers and her speed and agility can make her a hard target for the enemies. Thus, she also has other hidden moves that transform her into a super-powered ninja that happens to be armed to the teeth with goodies from S.H.I.E.L.D.

How To Play As Black Widow In Marvel’s Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers Beta: Black Widow Character Guide (Tips, Tricks, & Strategies)

Black Widow is almost cat-like with her move set to where she comes with a rather high jump and nifty dodging mechanic. She has the most diverse combo set than any other hero and she plays best up close and personal. She also comes with a grappling hook which enables her to quickly zip in and out of combat. Plus, it can be used for launching aerial combos. Players who like experimenting with combos and mixing things up would most like enjoy playing as Black Widow. She best played as a pinball, of sorts, to where she can; soften up bad guys with her pistols, kick them off ledges, crack heads with her batons and grapple out of the way. Like all the other heroes, she comes with three power moves called “Heroic Abilities” that each has a cool-down period. These three different abilities come in the guise as; support, assault, and ultimate.

Black Widow’s Heroic Abilities

  • Support Heroic Ability – Black Widow will become cloaked, letting her sneak around the fight undetected.
  • Assault Heroic Ability – A ball of electricity will be launched at the enemy, stunning and damaging them simultaneously
  • Ultimate Heroic Ability A shock wave will erupt out of Black Widow, knocking enemies back. Then, her electric staff will be summoned into her hands, letting her have the ability to unleash a flurry of combos.

The Best Moves For Black Widow In Marvel’s Avengers

Even though Black Widow is best when she is knocking around enemies with her fists, she also does indeed come with a couple of guns. The range associated with her firearms isn’t the best, but it does come in handy for turrets, drones, and other enemies of that ilk. With that said, it can be a bit tedious to keep rapidly pulling the triggers in order to unload a clip. Thankfully, she comes with some unlockable skills that work around that limitation. Basically, these skills transform her guns into automatic pistols to help out players from getting carpal tunnel syndrome. So, the best skills to get in that regard are:

Best Skills for Black Widow

  • Bullet Storm – This will power up Black Widow’s pistols to fire 3-round shots.
  • Full-Auto Shot – This is a natural progression from ‘Bullet Storm’. Simply hold down the trigger to spray enemies with Black Widow’s fully automatic pistols and chew apart enemies.
  • Rainmaker  – This will upgrade her ammunition capacity to up to 20 rounds.
  • High-Caliber Shot – These bullets provide the highest damage of all the bullets, but they’re also the slowest. They’re best used when it comes to headshots and other critical areas.

It’s also worth pointing out that Black Widow also comes with some rather handy unlockable skills that juice up her melee attacks. Some of the best skills to get would be; Whiplash, Power Line, Baton Strike, Back Alley Gambit, Night Watch, and Madripoor Special. These will give her a ground attack, longer grappling range, counters, etc. So, they’re worth trying out and see what works best in relation to the playstyle of the player. Black Widow is worth checking out for players looking for a character that has a lot of potential with experimentation with combat.

Marvel’s Avengers is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Google Stadia and Microsoft Windows
