Marvel’s Avengers: 10 Small Details In The Story You Missed

Marvel’s Avengers: 10 Small Details In The Story You Missed

Marvel’s Avengers has been finally released on major gaming consoles and hardcore Marvel fans everywhere are beyond delighted. The action role-playing game is so fun and binge-worthy that many of the finer details laced into the story could be easily missed.

There is an abundance of clues and side stories that are covertly placed throughout the game. Some of these ‘hidden messages’ pay homage to the original comic books, while others can be considered hints for what will come next in Crystal Dynamics’ new franchise.

Books On Stark Family In Hulk’s Room

Marvel’s Avengers: 10 Small Details In The Story You Missed

If a player were to snoop around the various heroes’ rooms, then they would find some rather cool objects and pictures that shed light on each’s interests, background, and personalities. Bruce Banner, despite his unstoppable, brute rage when triggered, is a very studious character in the MCU.

When a player zooms in closely on Banner’s book collection, they will find several books on Tony Stark including titles like “I Am Iron Man” and “The Stark Family History”. This little detail reflects the closely entwined relationship of the Hulk and Iron Man throughout the Marvel Comics and movies.

Hawkeye’s Room On The Kymera Helicarrier

When a player ventures through the Kymera Helicarrier, they will find a locked door with the name Clint Barton displayed above. Barton, or Hawkeye is not a focal character in Marvel’s Avengers but is referenced frequently, which must be a hint at his future inclusion in the game.

Players also catch another hint of Hawkeye when Monica admires a vintage painting of the Avengers at the subway station. The man kneeling in front of the group is Hawkeye. Expect to see him more involved in the series sooner than later.

Captain America Can Lift Mjolnir

Just like in Avengers: Age of Ultron, players have the ability to try and lift Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir with each hero. The thunderously powerful device sits in the middle of the floor in Thor’s room with its handle temptingly pointed upwards. Each character can interact with Mjolnir but only Thor has the strength to lift it.

However, if Captain America interacts with Thor’s hammer then he is able to lift it off the ground just a smidge. This inclusion alludes to both the early scene in Age of Ultron and Captain America’s eventual wielding of the device in Avengers: Endgame.

Shawarma

Shawarma Entry 4

Many fans may have forgotten the significance of “Shwarma” the restaurant in the first Avengers movie. After battling the hordes of alien enemies in New York City, the Avengers, per Iron Man’s specific request, are shown enjoying a warm meal at Shwarma.

In Marvel’s Avengers, creators tucked a clandestine Shwarma into a corner of the explorable city, calling back to its inclusion in the first film. Unfortunately, however, players can not actually enter the restaurant but they can see customers gathered at tables, enjoying their food outside the front doors.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents

There is plenty of references and exposition into S.H.I.E.L.D. agents throughout Marvel’s Avengers that is shown either through files, sidequests, collectible files, or dialogue. Some of the agents are characterized differently in the game than they are in the MCU.

For instance, Jimmy Woo is incorporated in the game as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent but in the MCU he is an FBI agent in the Ant-Man series. Nevertheless, in the comics, Woo is written as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, which is reflective of the game’s further allegiance to the comics rather than the MCU.

Photo Of Peggy Carter In Captain America’s Room

When looking through Captain America’s room, players will find a portrait of Peggy Carter laying by Cap’s bed. The portrait is a vintage photograph of Carter in her younger, WWII days. Captain America’s love interest is one of the most heart-wrenching and cruelly sad character dynamics portrayed in the MCU.

Captain America’s agelessness is almost tortuous when considering Carter’s natural temporariness and the loss of time together that resulted from Cap being frozen after the war.

Princess Shuri

To many fans dismay, Marvel’s Avengers doesn’t currently include the Black Panther. Nevertheless, the creators hint at his later induction into the game with a minuscule detail that can be found in the museum. If players go through the Captain America exhibit, they will eventually find a display centered around Cap’s shield.

When a player zooms into the fine print on the wall, they will see that Princess Shuri of Wakanda was the one who engineered the shield used in the game. Although this is the only mention of anything related to Black Panther, it is a hopeful sign that he will be a playable hero before gamers know it.

Marvel Brands

Throughout the metropolis of Marvel’s Avengers players will see various signs and advertisements for fictional brands that were included in the original Marvel Comics. One of the prominent brand names put on display is the Daily Bugle, which is the newspaper Spiderman works for.

Additionally, other brands from the comics such as Circle Q (Ms. Marvel), Roxxon (first appearing in Captain America), and Alchemax (Spider-Man 2099) can be seen while journeying through the cityscape.

Captain America And The Falcon Arcade Game

Players can visit an arcade in Marvel’s Avengers where they will find a bevy of different games for all kinds of different Marvel heroes. One of the games that stick out the most is the Captain America and The Falcon arcade game.

The Falcon, Captain America’s most devout sidekick, is not included in the game except for through this tiny detail. His specific powers and flying ability would make for an awesome addition to the game, so the arcade game could be a hint for his later inclusion. Additionally, it will be interesting to see how filmmakers expand The Falcon’s role in the MCU following Avengers: Endgame.

Hints At Daisy Johnson (Quake)

In the AIM bases dispersed throughout the game, players can find various memorials and poster boards that provide background into S.H.I.E.L.D. and events that lead up to the start of the game’s storyline. Eventually, players will stumble upon a curious “D. Johnson” that seems to pop up in several places.

This hint references Daisy Johnson, aka the superhero Quake, who is one of the main characters in the TV series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Her inclusion may be a sign of her forthcoming appearance in Marvel’s Avengers. Gamers should be excited, as she has some awesome, earth-crumbling capabilities.
