The first look at The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 hints at the fallout from Midge’s firing. Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, the show stars Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1950s housewife who breaks the constraints of her New York City housewife lifestyle and pursues a career in stand up comedy. Also starring Marin Hinkle and Tony Shalhoub as Midge’s parents and Alex Borstein as Midge’s outspoken manager Susie, the series debuted on Amazon in 2017 and quickly became a success for the streaming service.
In 2019, Amazon released The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 3 and renewed the award-winning series for a fourth installment. However, due to coronavirus concerns, filming on Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 was stalled, which led to a delay in airing a season per year. Earlier this year, Amazon announced that the series was back on track, and revealed that Gilmore Girls alumni Kelly Bishop and Milo Ventimiglia were cast in season 4.
Now, it appears Midge Maisel is feeling less than marvelous in new season 4 photos (via TVLine). Featuring Midge looking dejected while laying down in a showgirls’ dressing room, the photos from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 tease that Midge is dealing with the fallout from being fired from Shy Baldwin’s tour at the end of season 3. There is also a new photo of Abe and Rose enjoying TV dinners. Check out the first-look photos below:
Of course, it can be expected that Midge and Susie have their work cut out for them to get Midge’s comedy career back on track. With Midge and her performance plans left dangling in the air at the end of season 3 in a shocking turn of events, it seems Midge may have to take on odd jobs to pay for a new living arrangement. Now that first-look photos have been released, it can be expected that Amazon will unveil the first teaser for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 soon.
At this time, Amazon has yet to announce a release date for the highly-anticipated season 4. Indeed, it appears Midge isn’t the only one in her family dealing with a major turn of events, as Abe and Rose appear to be letting loose from their former lifestyle by enjoying classic TV dinners on trays. For now, fans of the series will have to tune in to see the next chapter for Midge unfold in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4.
