Marvel Proves Why Moon Knight Is A Better Vampire Hunter Than Blade

Marvel Proves Why Moon Knight Is A Better Vampire Hunter Than Blade

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Moon Knight #18In the latest issue of Marvel Comics’ Moon Knight, Marc Spector just proved he’s just as good of a vampire slayer as Blade (if not better). Having been at war with New York’s vampires led by the Tutor, Moon Knight finally unleashes his endgame upon the nocturnal monsters who’ve infested his city, looking to corrupt as many humans as possible into their sinister ranks. As a result, Moon Knight reveals a major power and title few other heroes possess, including Blade.

In the new Moon Knight #18 from Jed MacKay and Federico Sabbatini, Mr. Knight and Tigra boldly enter one of the Tutor’s conferences, willingly surrounding themselves with hundreds of vampires. Pulling out an umbrella, the Fist of Khonshu has his ally Soldier set off the room’s fire sprinklers. Reminding the Tutor that he’s a priest, Marc blesses the water which burns all the supernatural foes, giving Moon Knight an epic advantage when it comes to vampire slaying.

Moon Knight Has The Perfect Power For Killing Vampires

Marvel Proves Why Moon Knight Is A Better Vampire Hunter Than Blade

While Blade has employed holy water against vampires in the past, he can’t create an endless supply of it like Moon Knight apparently can. As such, one could argue that Marc Spector’s status as a priest makes him just as effective as Blade who himself is part vampire. Combined with his ancient Egyptian khopesh sword made of silver, there’s a strong case to be made that Moon Knight could be even better at killing vampires than the Daywalker.

Seeing as how Blade has been installed as the UN’s sheriff in Dracula’s Vampire Nation located in Chernobyl, it makes sense why he hasn’t been around to deal with New York’s ongoing wave of vampirism. That being said, the Tutor was attempting to integrate his operations with Dracula. As such, it would be very cool to see Moon Knight joining forces with Blade in the future of the Marvel Universe. With the Tutor’s empire largely decimated, Moon Knight is practically daring Dracula to make a move on New York.

At any rate, it’s going to be very exciting to see what Moon Knight and his Midnight Mission do next. Effectively wiping out New York’s vampire population and its key leaders, Moon Knight has epically proved his skills as a vampire slayer. At the very least, He’s certainly given Blade a run for his money. Moon Knight #18 is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
