Marvel Phase 4 Can Reveal What Happened To Vision’s Body After Infinity War

What happened to Vision’s body after Avengers: Infinity War could finally be answered in WandaVision. The humanoid creation of Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Ultron has seen his importance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe grow with each appearance after Avengers: Age of Ultron. Vision became a member of the Avengers, but the power of the Mind Stone sitting in his head made him a target that Thanos would one day go after.

That time finally came in Infinity War as the Mad Titan gathered all six Infinity Stones to re-balance the universe. Vision was attacked early on by Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive, with the latter permanently damaging him with his incredibly powerful spear. Even though most of the Avengers and all of Wakanda tried to then protect Vision in the African nation, he couldn’t stay out of danger for long. Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch did the unimaginable and blew up the Mind Stone to keep it out of Thanos’ hands, even though it meant killing Vision. But, Thanos reversed time and managed to rip the stone out of Vision’s head anyway.

Vision’s lifeless body is one of the final things seen in Infinity War, but that was also the last time that it was featured. However, Marvel Studios has already confirmed that Vision will return on Disney+ to co-star in WandaVision. Based on the information and Wandavision footage released so far, half of the series appears to take place inside Wanda’s mind or some altered version of reality and the other half as been described as an MCU spectacular. Although this likely means that the version of Vision featured in the show is not actually back from the dead, WandaVision could be the place where Marvel reveals what happened to his body after Infinity War.

Prior to the release of Avengers: Endgame, many presumed that Shuri could in be possession of the body in an attempt to revive Vision, but that doesn’t appear to have happened since she was also snapped. Instead, Vision’s body remains a rather large unanswered question in the MCU. His body may not have an Infinity Stone anymore, but it was created with Vibranium. The valuable metal and the science behind the creation of the body should still make it a potentially valuable item for someone to have.

One of the main story points for WandaVision appears to be Wanda attempting to live a full life with Vision in this alternate reality. It would stand to reason that once her mind is clear and she snaps back to reality that trying to make this life permanent could be one of her goals. This could lead her to discover where Vision’s body is with the hope that she could use her abilities to bring him back to life. It is also feasible that the location of Vision’s body could be something that SWORD would be interested in.

Instead of searching for Vision’s body, WandaVision could potentially use the answer to this question as the inciting incident for the entire series. Since we don’t know exactly how long after Endgame that WandaVision is set, perhaps Wanda has already discovered what happened to Vision’s body. If she was reunited with it, the memory of what she did and what Thanos did after could be what triggers the events of WandaVision. In any case, Vision is set to play a vital role in the series and if the show deals with bringing him back on a permanent basis, then figuring how what happened to him after Infinity War is a must.
